Pinkbirdy, i'm so sorry to hear your galah died, you were so excited :*( Anyway glad you got a goffin, also, update your "Parrots:" section of your account! Also, i have a breeder who has greater vasas for sale for $1000, should i go for it? I can handle the hemipenis, just not the baldness of the females. Such a primitive parrot it is intriguing.

I researched vasas when I was looking at different species earlier this year and they seem a really interesting left field option. There is a breeder in the UK who sells them for the equivalent of $600 but I didn't really have the option to spend time with them before deciding so reluctantly ruled it out. There was a David Attenborough clip on them on the other night with lots of great footage and they are wonderful birds to watch. The bald thing doesn't bother me but then I've always liked ugly ducklings! I believe it's mainly the greaters that lose their head feathers though?

Conversely until this year galahs were never a serious consideration for me - I loved them but I'd ruled out 'toos generally as too difficult for a first bird - but when I met Alice all the other options seemed to fade into the background.

Moonchild, I loved reading your description of Boris - it's exactly the personality I'm seeing more and more in Alice as she gains in trust and confidence.

Wings [thanks ] My RB2 Jennifer did die .That's why im getting another [its a baby male this time] coming SATURDAY !!!! The Goffin happened because I was looking for cages on craigslist [and came across him ] I need to stay off craigslist LOL :)

HaHa! What are you going to name your male galah? Sydney? I love. Jyyj, if you want to learn more about vasas, I made an informational thread just for you!

They didn't. They took already invented techniques, and presented in a way that is easy to understand. I didn't understand stick-training until bought their product, it was presented very well. Jamieleigh is such a charismatic and amazingly nice person. I got to meet their toucan "Rocko"

Actually yes they did steal information. From EVERY bird behaviorist. From Barbara Heidenriech, Sally Blanchard and free flight artist Chris Biro and many others.

They're crooks. And no one should support them.

If you want to believe their lies. Go ahead. Or you can research this topic and talk to the VERY POPULAR people I just mentioned above and get the truth..

wow i didn't realize. Even Jamieleigh? She seems so nice !@!

I do not think Jamie was involved at the time Dave and Chet were starting out as Frauds. Didnt Jamie break up with Dave? I can't recall. I honestly don't know if Jamie was involved when Dave and Chet stole info and material from Chris Biro but I know she was involved in teaching free flight to some of Chets and Daves birds.

oh... i was watching barbara and she is amazing!

This thread is going widely off topic. Copyright is a tricky issue. A teacher's lessons plans, lectures, handouts, tests, etc are copyrighted. The knowledge is not. I am not stealing my Cal teacher's intellectual property by teaching others about derivatives. I don't know the exact history of the Womachs with the other trainers.

Even reading Barbara's article, well written as it is, made it sound like the Womachs took information they learned and marketed it better. Granted, the early days of birdtricks marketing was pretty awful, but they've improved since then. I still don't understand the hate. Don't like them, then don't buy from them. I haven't actually purchased any of their services, I just watch their vids and read their blogs. Just like I do with this forum and all information out there, I take what I think is good and ditch the rest.

I agree. If you used what your teacher said and made money off of it is it considered stealing? I don't know i'm confused on this whole thing.

This has nothing to do with teacher/students. This was real information and they STOLE nad copied it and claimed it as there own. And they made money off it without giving credit.

If you talk to any major behaviorist they will tell you that the Womachs are crooks.

They had NO experience and then one day went to Chris Biros and hired behaviorists and now claimed that advice and sell it as there own? They are entrepreneurs. Frauds. Crooks. And don't deserve any credit or $ they recieved as everything they used was stolen information.

I talk to them and saw it in the works when I was apart of a couple free flight yahoo groups. I don't mean to go off topic but it looks like this is how the discussion is. Someone mentions something and people respond to it.

I highly recommend talking to Barbara Hedeinreich or Chris Biro yourself. Dont let thieves steal your heart. When there are people who've earned their place.

I could take Barbaras book Parrot Provlem Solver and reword it and use it as my own. But that isn't right. And what the Womachs did to people was wrong. They ruined a lot of peoples livelyhoods.
