I've been trying to teach Percy to say "I'm a good bird" for a while and this morning, out of the blue, he pipes up and says "I'm a buuuurd! Hello! Hello!" :D

I am sure the obvious omission of the word "GOOD", is a clear message to mommy.....:20:

Good one :) Our 'tiel, Junior (Pavarotti Junior) learned "pretty boy" quite quickly... but sometimes says "pretty, pretty boy", just to emphasize that he is really pretty.

Awwwww.....I had a cockatiel (named Chicken Little) with a rather extensive vocabulary...he always cracked me up when he'd get to chattering and leave out the word "pretty" and end up saying...Hello...Chicken Little...Such a Buuuuurrrrd! And when he said...Buuurrrd...his voice would be like....a kid saying...DUUHHH!

And I have Charlie...I can't get him to say bird at all...he'll say Such'a Pretty...with the uptone at the end...soo cute!

Don'tcha just LOVE teaching them to talk?? It's my favorite...because once they've learned a few phrases...the way they mix and mingle them sometimes gives me quite the chuckle. :)

Years ago, I was a nanny to some French children in London. One day, the little boy asked me what "note-y" meant.

Maybe Percy can enlighten us? :D

Milo often tells himself "Good Boy". I've noticed this has recently been shortened to just a cheerful "Boy!" and am getting a little suspicious he's up to no good.... :D

He also takes great delight in shouting "TOO LOUD!!" at the amazons, when he is blatantly the one making all the noise...

Sammie says "Good boy!" Even though she's a girl and I was trying to teach her "Good birdy!"

:)

That's great! I swear, there's nothing more exciting than a bird learning something new!

One night, the boyfriend and I were watching TV, and Mopar was being excessively noisy. So I went over and covered him, so we could hear the TV. About a minute later, I see his head peeking through the bottom of the cover, and he says "I love you." First, I had NO IDEA he could even say that. Secondly, that bird really knows how to get to me! I laughed, and went over to him, says "I love you, too." and uncovered him. This time he quieted down and watched TV with us. :)

Percy sounds like a hoot! He knows he's a bird, but he doesn't want to give you the wrong impression on what kind of bird he is :D

Kiwi doesn't really talk, but he does honk like a goose.

That is hysterical...Percy, the master of the obvious:)

Lol Sophie dont talk alot ether but she also honks like a little goose :32: And she growls and barks like a dog Lol I think she very mixed up on what she is.

but he doesn't want to give you the wrong impression on what kind of bird he is
He's honest! Percy doesn't tell lies! Even if he's a naughty bird, he's still a good bird for being truthful!

Percy, learn what mummy is teaching you, please. It's not fibbing after all. :54:
