I'm sorry and i hope i am posting this in the right section, I was just searching CL for an extra bird play stand. i came across this ad.
and yes the "WOW" is all i had to say too!
It was funny, then i started to feel bad for the thing that "needs caged"

!!! WOW !!! HUGE BIRD CAGE

its a classic though for sure!

Definately sad. The only thing I would put in that cage would be a climbing plant. Anything that needs caging? Lol! What the hell does that mean?

Its pretty but Im not going to put a hyacinth macaw in there if that's what they are saying! It would be perfect in a big walk through garden and you could put it in one of the paths with a fake bird in it! Maybe. So I can put a snake in there?!?! What do they mean????

it may make a great rabbit cage too!
That is actually what i was thinking, i would buy it as an antique, and it should be in that section. Not to sold to cage something lol!
I have always been interested in the history of cages after i seen the cage my parents mullocan was in in the late 70s . we have come a long way! I love this cage as an art piece, but its advertised to put a living thing in, and the scariest part it that is has currently sold toys in it!

aww i thought that cage would be perfect for my husband!!! i think he would love it. he outgrew his last one...

(his comment to my comment: "can i switch out the perch?" )

(totally kidding, to anyone who thinks i'm serious :p )

hahaha i love it Dally!!!!

i wish i could cage train my hubby any tips? lol!

LOL @ Dally!!

Any living thing, eh? We should buy the cage and stick the seller in there...provided of course, that he's 'living' :54:

tips? well it helps if you give him companions, he gets lonely without them. ideally, those companions should be compatible with what he likes... in my husband's case, his chinchillas!! oh and be sure he has a waterbottle and food. lots of food, they tend to eat a LOT. some days they seem to be bottomless pits!

(in all seriousness, this is how he gives them attention since they wont leave their cage haha when he cleans it and rearranges it, he goes inside it with them!!)

Hahaha I have actually been looking for a cage similar to this simply so I can hang Barry outside in the sun and give him a hose off, he loves the hose but his big cage is a pain to lug around and I wouldn't bother trying to pit a harness on him!

haha that is a great pic!
Thanks for the pic! it definitely made my day!

See now you just need to send it to the poster of the ad and tell them you dont think your husband would fit comfortably so not all things needing caged would apply to his ad!

haha some people...

(and that is awesome how dedicated your hubby is to his chins!)

you know, if i felt like trolling craigslist/kijiji ads, that would be a funny way to do it lol

to be honest, sadly, i get many ads like this in my area. "huge" cage available, yet it's only a 14"x18"x12" cage lol. the worst ones say you can fit "two small birds like cockatiels" or 1 big parrot in them D: they make me sad. i avoid kijiji as best i can because the ads do make me quite sad often. people need to do research on the birds they get, see what the minimum cage requirement is, what kind of cage is best, etc. but sadly, they dont. i wish they would. i mean, if you get a car or something, most people will make sure it's cared for right. and some parrots cost as much as a car sometimes if you got a super expensive species along with a cage and all accessories... but people dont seem to want to take care of living things as much as they do a car, or things like that.

Haha that is awesome. If I tried that with my bird's cage, the bottom would probably bend out of shape. You must have a very strong cage or a very light husband lol!

the ferret nation cages are very sturdy, my husband is close to 200 lbs lol

we should ask the seller if there is a weight limit :D

I have been wanting to get an old "fancy" cage and put lights in it. I think you could make one look like an unreal chandelier or something with the right lights inside, like a giant messy nest of Christmas lights :)

Might come in handy locking up trespassers.....or a kid who won't leave when asked.....Just kidding!

It would be cool to put a mechanical owl like from "Clash if the Titans" in there, or a parrot made out of scrap steel parts.

Seriously! I absolutely love the cage as an art piece!
and yeah, a welded bird would look amazing in there!
its def in the wrong section...

I just found this hilarious post. The add, not so funny!! Anything that needs caged? Seems some of us have much higher standards for pet housing than we do for certain people. Although, Dally has provided a wonderful cage for her husband. He looks very happy.
