Nothing really special here but I wanted to add some full spectrum light over her play area since the light at the cage does no good most of the time because she's out.
I purchased a Zoo Med AvianSun Deluxe Floor Pet Lamp for $30 off Amazon. It get's crappy reviews but I believe those came from the old model...plus it's Amazon Prime so I could return it if junk.
Anyway, the lamp arrived the next day and I put it together. It is a very well made fixture for a 3 piece floor lamp. No sectional lamp pole is going to be a solid as a one piece unit but this one is very solid.....provided you make sure you tighten the screw together sections. If they are not tight by even an 1/8" of a turn it will be loose. If I was going to use it as a floor lamp which would be moved around for cleaning etc I would have probably put some blue Locktite on the threads of the sections.
The lamp does not include a bulb but I had some ALZO 27W Full Spectrum CFL Light Bulbs so I used one of those....4 of them are cheaper than one Zoo Med bulb.
The lamp turned out to be the right size for use on my tabletop but the base was too big to get the lamp pole into the corner where I wanted it so I simply removed the fixture form the base and screwed into a piece of wood which in turn was screwed to the tabletop.
Once I had the base made and secured to the lamp, I just placed it where I wanted it and screwed it down.
