Fry Daddy woe

So, I'm craving some sweet potato fries... I have a Fry Daddy, but I am worried the fry daddy has some version of Teflon as a component. My bird is in a room directly off a very short hallway from the kitchen. I don't want to risk using the fry daddy (even if I used it directly under the oven exhaust) just incase it does have Teflon.

Now, I know I'm not the only one with a bird who makes fries at home. What do you all use when you make your fries? Am I maybe overthinking it?

Personally if it were in a well ventilated room away from the birds I wouldn't have a problem with it.

We fry them in a pan....I've used fry daddy in the past, thought they were stainless steel pots???

Bake them in the oven...better for you anyway.

I use my deep fryer all the time and havent had any issues. It is not a fry daddy though, it has an enamel type coating bucket and not that non stick peely stuff i remember about my parents old fry daddy. I would probably be worried about it too, but maybe you can check their website or find a number to call them about it. That is what I did for my blowdryer when i wasnt sure...

Maybe you could fry them at your neighbour's house and pay them in fries?!?

I totally neglected to check this post, but I did find a fantastic way to make french fries without the use of a fry daddy. It involves using a cast iron pan and your choice of "frying" oil. You put the pan on the cold stove, add your fries (of a relatively thin cut), drizzle your oil over the top of them and finally turn the heat on to medium-high until they are done. The fries come out delicious and not the least bit greasy. Win!
