Hey! so i have 3 budgies. I was wondering should i continue to let them have access to their food 24/7 or schedule feedings and fruits/veggies in between?

I have eight budgies and can't imagine them not having access to food 24/7. I know that some larger parrot owners take all food out at bedtime and feed them fresh chop in the morning. By mid day the chop is removed and replaced (I think) with pellets and perhaps some seeds and nuts. Large parrots can go longer without feeding than little budgies that seem to graze all day. I look forward to reading others' opinions.

A small animal like a budgie, like a small dog, can get lethargic if they aren't getting enough calories.....Leave food out in their cage ALL THE TIME. The burn through tons of calories especially if happy and playing a lot. Of course give the cauliflower and brocolli (they love those) but leave it as an option the gravitate too....Also millet. Unless you are using that as a treat to train them.

They should always have acces to some kind of food all the time.
If your's eat veggies it should be ok to replace their food for short periods of time, but only if they already eat veggies.
I'll often remove seed during a veggies meal, but do try to leave some pellets for them just in case I am late to replace the veggies or something.
