First of all, let me say I have missed reading the forum....this place is just wonderful.
Work has intensified and there just aren't enough hours in the day!!
But, I wanted to take a minute and share this past weekends Freckles story".
This crazy, loveable Grey of mine!!! She has come to insist sharing whatever she thinks is on my plate and will NOT take "no" for an answer.
Saturday was a crazy busy day of house and lawn work......so mid afternoon I ran up to my local building supply store which has a Taco Bell across the parking lot......I hadn't taken time to do anything other than down copious cups of coffee and make certain dogs, cats and Freckles were fed. Sooooo.....Taco Bell was looking pretty good :14:.
I added a cup of rice to my chicken burrito order.....'cause Freckles LOVES rice. Got home, sat down on the couch.....called Freckles over and showed her the rice. She dived right in. Had my burrito on my plate and before I could pick it up, "someone" decided that was a whole lot more interesting than her cup of rice!!!! I don't think I've ever seen any one or any thing savor a Taco Bell shredded chicken burrito like that goof ball bird did. Taco Bell......you may have a new "poster child"......'cause she thinks you all are 5 stars and then some. :03:

Yep, tacos GOODDDDD, avocado BADDDDD...

I am half-Mexican and I confess to loving Taco Bell. Especially the bowls and the hot sauce...

Next time you'll be getting 2 burritos....

I think Freckles is the cutest name ever! I'm thinking I wish I had named one of my budgies Freckles because of their spots :D.

I hate to be a killjoy, but almost any local hole-in-the-wall is better IMO than Taco Bell! Living in SoCal has spoiled me rotten, and I avoid the chain stores like the plague! Even Rubios!

I'd be concerned that there would be something in that burrito that could be harmful to a parrot, some onions or even a little avacado. Place like that aren't real careful to keep ingredients seperated. Awesome that Freckles enjoyed it though.

I've not yet Perjo join me for a meal while I sit down and eat.

Ahhhh we are never in charge. What will you be bringing home next for Freckles? Make sure to preorder...

Freckles is a big fan of Thai....thinks spring rolls are the bomb......no avocado or onions or mushrooms for my girl. she loves frozen yogurt, too. and.....the one thing I really have to be careful with is my coffee.......she will throw a pretty impressive tantrum if she sees me with my coffee cup.
and I know that's a HUGE "NO" for birds.

I'm too nervous to give Timneh much but a little piece of plain chicken. I usually just give her a pine nut, cashew, or grape for a treat. She gets her regular sweet potato mash cause she hates vegetables for the most part. I bought her some cheerios the other day for a treat but she thinks they are not worthy of her time.

It's cute and all, but as I am sure you know, chain food is really high in salt, sugars too. A bite or 2 maybe but more then that? Hmmmm.....

I'm not a "chain food" fan......but every once in awhile. :)
Freckles' diet has been overhauled thanks to everyone here.....when she came to live with me, her diet was Walmart Parrot seed.....some grapes and lots of roasted peanuts in the shell. She's graduated to "chop" and thrives on it.....her treats tend to be grapes, pineapple tidbits and bites of bagel (she loves bagels!!). Also.....I cook, a lot.....so the aforementioned Thai is "mine"......and I make the spring rolls. What would Freckles and I do without all of you????? Thanks for all the thoughts, comments and helping me make a difference to her.

Try giving Timneh a chicken leg bone..it's good for them. Smokey ( also a Timneh) would rip it out of my hhand!
