So tonight I decided I was once and for all going to get Franklin in his flight suit and after a little bit of awkward what the heck are you doing to me Mom squawks...he let me get it on him and I'm - once again - reminded how tiny my little guy is...even for a green cheek!

I've been weighing him every day since I got his scale and he always weighs 59g - 61g and the ONE day only he was 62g. Yesterday and today he was holding steady at 60g. He's 11 months old.

So his flight suit, which is specifically sized for green cheeks, is still a bit too big for him, but it DID work wonderfully!

Okay so after I got his flight suit on him, I let him walk about a bit to get used to it, it didn't take him long and then in the car we went :D

Now Franklin absolutely LOVES to go bye bye and he settled right in, ate a banana chip on the way to Wal Mart.

Tonight was the most adventurous I've ever seen him! He climbed down off me (a FIRST EVER at a store!) and once on the floor he just started walking along like he's done it his whole life!

Everyone that saw him walking on his leash about died! I SOOOO Wish I had a picture of him!!!

Then I put him back on me, he climbed down my arm and onto the cart and rode on the back of the kid seat part of the cart ... again, like he's always done it!

Then I found a cool bonsai type plant for my Mom, put it in the seat of the cart, he - of course found it to be awesome, and climbed in the pot and finished shopping as a piece of planter decor. :rainbow1:

I love Franklin sooo flippin much! He's just a tiny bird with a huge personality. I knew Franklin was going to be fun and we'd enjoy him when he chose us and we bought him, but I truly didn't expect the amazing gift he truly is.

That is TINY! Puck is 141 grams, which is smallish for a caique!

His pics are sooo cute! I may have to get a flight suit for Puck. The aviator harness didn't go to well... lol

Rowdy is 139gm and she looks petite compared to the other Nandays I've seen.

Just curious, did anyone at Walmart say anything about the no pets policy? It sounds like you had a blast. I would love to take my birds shopping with me, but I worry I will get kicked out. There's no way Rowdy would wear a flight suit though. And she is not clipped either.

Green Cheeks should weigh between 60-80 grams. He is a bit on the small size. My YSGCC Maxx weighs 66g, so he is small too.

love the cute story and the pictures! Franklin is such a cutie!

He's a very handsome little man :) It's cute how he's tugging at his suit in the pictures lol

No one said anything to me and several of the "oooh and awwers" were store employees!

I haven't yet, been kicked out of a store with him, instead I get a lot of chuckles and support...believe it or not.

I live in a really small town and people around here just LOVE him, he's becomming a town icon! He's welcome in every store, which is the hardware store, liquer/gift store and the grocery store...oh, and the shell gas station and post office.

When we go "down below" to the big city I realize that not everyone is so "accepting" but even at Ross Clothing Store, they let me bring him in to return something and said...just make sure he doesn't leave you. :)

I think most people are more fascinated and he's a more of a novelty sight...not like a dog or cat...I mean, how many people have seen a bird walk on a leash??? So, perhaps the "Shock" factor causes employee's to forget the "No pet's" policy if they have one.

I have the "I paid a LOT of money for this bird and darnit, I want to show him off!" attitude :D

And Franklin is a total show off ;)
