Hey all...haven't been around as much as I'd like to be, work has me busy, our internet server has been having trouble and often I'm booted off the net before getting started...ggrrrr!
Soooo... with all the time I'm NOT on the internet lately, I've been dedicating that "extra" time into undivided bird time
Anyway, our yellow sided green cheek conure, Franklin is 1 1/2 years old now and much to my amazement, has really been developing an extensive vocabulary - for a green cheek - that is.
He says, Hello, pretty bird, pretty pretty birdie, hey baby, Frank the Tank, Frankieeeeee, Thank you, him a good boy?, Chicken Little (one of our cockatiels names) he gives kisses complete with smooch and then says "Thank you" and a few other things I can't remember off the top of my head...so a few days ago...my son (13) was playing with him and I think Franklin got a bit excited and bit my son a little more harder than a "love nip" and my son reacted by saying ...OUCH! STUPID BIRD!
For a moment they both took a "time out" and went back to playing. No harm, no foul...
Tonight as I was sitting here checking email...I hear Franklin over there in his cage - waiting for me to get him out..."Hello, Hello, Him a Good boy?, Thank you! Him a good boy?? Made a couple kiss sounds and followed them up with "Thank you" Then he cracked me up when he said...Stupid Bird...
He said it in such a way that it sounded like he was a frustrated elder disapproving of a childs actions and walking away talking under his breath....stupid kid...type of thing.
I just laughed and said...Oh Frankieee...and of course Franklin's favorite thing to do is LAUGH with me...the most annoying and funny thing of all...everytime I even "chuckle" a little bit at something...Franklin belts out in his bestest loudest form...Squawking Hahahaha's....
Now seeing as he does it everytime I laugh or chuckle out loud, I know it's not squawking to squawk...he always stops when I stop laughing...
He's a total character...
Just wanted to share
