Found Parakeets: Spokane, Washington

I posted these birds on parrot alert, but I want to be thorough in my search for their owners. On March 26, my daughter found two parakeets on the balcony of her apartment. We think they were attracted to the singing of her flock. One is a gray with a yellow face. The other is a yellow clear wing (not Lutino.)

We are not posting photos because we have had scammers and flippers contact us attempting to claim these birds, or tell us to keep them, then try to sell us cages and toys, but they have no idea what they look like. If you think these may be your birds (according to our avian vet, they were not out long and came from no more than a 20 mile radius around Spokane) please contact me via PM through this forum with photos, or band numbers. I will check my PMs daily!

These birds are safe with me. My daughter and I are experienced parakeet owners. We are simply trying to find their original owners. I would want someone to look for me if my babies went missing.

Still no word on the owners of these two budgies. I have heard nothing in several days, so I am giving this post a little bump (I hope this is okay.) Again, these birds are safe and cared for.

If the owner happens to see this post and simply does not want them anymore, just PM me with proof that you are their owner and let me know. I won’t judge and you don’t have to explain yourself.

No one has come forward to claim them yet. They are still here with me and I am working on hand taming them. At this point, it’s extremely likely that they escaped from a local pet store. These birds are very young. We have tracked down a birthdate via their band numbers and I expect they will be staying with me. I am looking into what local laws say about how long I have to wait before they are my birds legally, but it seems we may not actually have any laws that apply to parakeets.
