Today we found this feather in Bob's cage. It's got a deep, bloody root on it. It's from his wing. Bob seems healthy and happy, but we've never seen a feather like this before.
Last night, Bob was sitting quietly on top of his cage, like he always does. Suddenly, he screamed three times for no apparent reason and jumped down onto the floor (he never jumps down). We cuddled him and tried to figure out what spooked him so much, but found nothing. Today's feather 'might' be from that scream? We're not sure. There's no evidence of bleeding, and we can't find any kind of wound.
Today he seems like his usual self. Eating, drinking, and chewing on toys.
Any experts want to weigh in? Does this seem like he simply hurt himself, or do you think maybe he plucked as a symptom of something? Thank you so much for any help you can give. We're very worried.
