We have had to separate Flynnie from the other fids as she had started attacking them, and I mean really attacking them. So today I had to catch her, which is not easy as she really freaked out. Finally got her and have put her in a separate cage, (poor little soul is on her own for the first time in I don't know how long)
The great news about that is that for the first time in all the years I've had her she has let me give her scritches (she was my little rescue, who wasn't expected to make it) She still won't allow me to scritch her from inside the cage, but she isn't moving away, in fear, of the dreaded hand. We have been looking round for a male red rump, and have found a couple of places but they only sell them in pairs, I have asked them to give me a ring if they ever have a single male come in.
But while she is on her own I'm spending a lot of time working with her, and hopefully soon she will get over this absolute terror she has of hands in her cage. That will make my day. And all of the heartache and hardwork will have been well worth it.
