Flying on Airplane With Bird

That's a normal worry!!! Don't let it worry you. Maybe see about a video chat when sitter is there? My sister does a chat with my CAG every few months. Most of time sis is ignored. Then there's the few times they interact.

I recently looked into flying with a bird. The airlines I found that allowed birds in the cabin expressly prohibited cockatoos.

That's discrimination!
My sitter sent me videos of her with Joey on her during both visits today. It made me feel better. She's really good with our birds and they like her a lot.

I don't know. I'd rather have the cockatoo! They probably had a bad experience with an angry cockatoo and banned them. Wait until they get a hungry baby eclectus! That scream was epic!

Why are cockatoos prohibited?
Noise I'm sure and also I suspect larger birds in general would be prohibited because it would be difficult to put them in a carrier that would fit under the seat.

They didn't seem to have restrictions on macaws
I was willing to pay for a full seat but no go.

Do they accept smaller birds in cabin? If so they're discriminating. If not, could it be increased fear of avian flu?

I still can't believe they wouldn't take a 1 ounce budgie. So stupid. A dog or cat can poop and smell up the place and so many people are allergic- way more than are allergic to budgies with odorless poops.

But we're having a good time. Tonight's the Eagles concert at the Sphere. Definitely a bucket list event. All of the old rockers will be gone in five years. I can't think of any current bands I would want to see, especially for the kind of money it cost for this trip.
