So I used Harrison's bird bread and of course Rosey loved it, I did grind up the supreme fruit blend pellets and added to it because she doesn't touch those so i wanted her to try them grinded up and it was a success.

So my question is that the Harrison's bird bread is soo expensive. Thinking about making it from scratch myself.
Wanted to know what to use as flours. I have the following flours at home:

Rice flour
Almond four
Wheat flour
Bulgur wheat ( which I can grind up)
Regular flour
Chickpea flour

Now can I grind up the following and just add them to the flours or do I need to cook them first :

Brown rice
Red lentils

Do I add baking powder and baking soda?

Well...

My breads are different every time.
I have used almond flour, rice flour, corn meal, whole wheat... Any mixture of them.
And you can certainly cook quinoa or lentil in. I put sweet potato and pumpkin in mine along with any number of things. Banana, mango, kale... Mixed veg, flax, oats...

Lots of options. I don't put bp or soda. Just eggs and the flours. Sometimes mine end up kinda bread pudding-ish but my guys love it.

Thank you so much! I just was sure what to use as a flour base. Thank you!!

If you are creative you can use whatever you want! But I would suggest using a sweet potato, pumpkin, and banana in it! They love it.

I was thinking using baby purees maybe the stage 4's that have the chunks in them.

I wouldn't use baby food honestly. Just use pure canned pumpkin. Or microwave a sweet potato and beat it in without the skins. And two ripe bananas. Super easy and pure, no preservatives.

My birds eat better than I do- all organic and fresh.

I keep cans of pumpkin in my pantry because I use that in ever single bird bread.
