Kiwi Stardust - a green cheek conure
Hi all...so the story is Kiwi has been working hard growing her flight feathers back. About a week or so two beautiful blue flight feathers emerged from her wings, one on each side. She's been able to flutter further distances too.

Today, sadly, I found one blue feather on the bottom of her cage, a little bit of blood at the tip. I'm not sure if it broke off or if she bit it off. There is no blood in the cage, and I checked her wing and there is no bleeding/dried blood etc.

Anyone know if this happens regularly? Or it something I should be really concerned about.

Her cage is currently quite populated with toys and perches of all sorts, but there are empty areas too where she can flutter around. Maybe I have to reduce the number of toys.

Any advice, insights?

It's not uncommon unfortunately for them to break flight feathers especially when going from clipped to growing them back as there are no surrounding feathers to protect the new blood feather. As long as Kiwi is not bleeding, you don't really have to do anything.

Ditto what Echo said. Sadly, that's one of the down sides to clipping.

I'm thankful that Jayde hasn't damaged any of her new flights, but she does have some stress bars in the first two that grew out. I haven't seen any in any of the newer ones since then.
