Maverick - BFA (hatchdate: 05/04/2016)
I got a wonderful update on Maverick yesterday!

D (breeder) said she was cleaning the cage next to his and heard a tiny precious "hello" and looked over and he had his head cocked and was just staring at her like ummmmm let me out please! I've heard he is a little 'energizer birdie' and wants to play aaaaaalllll day long!

He's almost 3 months old, and I'm DYING to have him in our home!!!

Oh and of course another picture :D :green:

She said early to mid September, when he is 4 months old. But he hasn't taken formula in a week so I'm not sure if that timeline will change if he weans more quickly than she thought.

It appears that your Parrot will come home as a 'fully fledged' Amazon!

Whenever you can, please visit your baby. It will help both of you.

Truly a fine looking Blue Fronted Amazon you have there! And, you appeared to have picked a great Breeder.

Always remember: Amazon's Rule!

Congratulations on your new addition. How exciting, that first word is the bomb!

I see you are in Georgia - I live in Rome, so we must be neighbors or at least nearly neighbors.

He's precious! I know you must be itching to bring him home but it will be so worth the wait! What a darling! Congratulations on that first big word!

We close on the house in two weeks so everything is in boxes! I'll be out of town this week for finals for grad school and the wifey has a business trip next week so packing is happening fast! We aren't usually out of town like this so we are scrambling to keep everything orderly.

We literally cannot wait to get this sweet little guy home. We have read so many books and even have a collaborative Pinterest page that has all kind of toy diys and parrot safe treats and such.

I truly wish we could visit him but he lives in New Jersey and we are in Georgia so we just have to be patient and admire from afar for now :(

We are moving to Marietta actually Tsali, so we will be neighbors ish! My wife works in cartersville! I work in the city so Marietta is a nice in-between: her for mileage and me for sitting in traffic.

Sweet!
I go to settlement tomorrow, and Kalani comes home in about 4 weeks! I know exactly how you feel. I am in Maryland, and Kalani is in California; it doesn't get much further than that in the U.S.
We're getting there. Very exciting that your baby is eating solids!

WOW we ARE neighbors, then. Way back when I was a young chick I was a Police Officer in Cartersville. Marietta is a nice little community. If "The City" must mean Atlanta -- poor you - hubby makes the trip a couple times a week way over on the east side -- commute takes 2+ hours each way. It's like taking your life into your own hands and throwing yourself under the 18 wheelers traveling 75, 285 and 85.

So you don't have long to wait, and perhaps by the time your new addition arrives you will be all settled in your new home.

What a beautiful Amazon! They all start at word-one, and can be phenomenal talkers. Seems like you are going to have a wonderfully weaned and socialized buddy!!

OH MY GOSH YOU GUYS HE IS READY!!!!

I just got a message and he has been off formula for over 2 weeks and she says he can come home. She kept saying September so that he could have plenty of time and we wouldn't push for him to wean early (which no, I want him of course but I want him healthy more than anything!)

We are working out the shipping details but looks like she'll hold on to him for 2 weeks so we can get past closing, hardwood installation, and moving and then he'll arrive!

The countdown is ON!!! :04: :04: :04:
