Parrots
Bean the Blue Front Amazon, Chico the Ringneck, and Ida the African grey
So... It seems like forever ago since I have had a baby parrot. I don't remember Bean (my amazon) being quite as clumsy as Ida is. Please tell me this is normal. Don't get me wrong she gets around pretty good. Flys well, but in her cage its the worst. I have tried to place a few more perches in there to help her out. She has fallen twice today. I am trying really hard not to stand over her cage and make a big scene. I know she has to figure it out, but eh... I'm a worry wart.

She is eating normal, and has tried everything I have offered her. She isn't real shy. Actually, she is pretty out-going.

Any advice from someone who has had baby greys would be awesome! Thank you!

Well, what I can say is, when the time comes, they can handle it well. My 4-month-old grey girl is also clumsy but with time she can manage to sit on my shoulder...

Ruby is a little clumsy when compared to Jade, but not really in her cage. And I've always attributed it to her missing the back toys on each food.

Awww, Ida is just young...she will get there....do you have a rope perch for her? They are good for the little ones to get a good grip....good luck and keep us updated.

Yup she has a rope perch. I also did some looking online... sometimes I think I shouldn't do that. There was a site I was looking at that had info on clumsy grey babies. It was like reading a horror story. A lot of stories about falls, and deaths, and wounded babies. The internet isn't always a good tool. :)

She is doing well. Still haven't gotten a chance to take any pictures.... but I haven't forgotten.
