Hi there.
I'm the owner of a parrotlet who is about 9 months old.
Her name is Olaf and she used to be the color of the inside of an avocado.
And her feathers looked shiny.
She had her first molt a few weeks ago.
She had clipped feathers when i got her.
All her flight feathers that came in where grey, wich didn't surprise me, because one of her parents was grey.
But then her new feathers on her body came in very greyish too. I can best describe it as a thicc layer of dust.
I'm not bothered by the color. (To me she is the most beautiful bird in the whole world.) And i get that its just her genes, But I'm worried by how dull she is now. Again, it looks like dust. No shine.
Besides the dullness her feathers look A+
Im just shocked by the big difference.
Any thoughts? Just genetics?
She bathes once every two weeks.
Has Harisson´s bird food as pellets.
She eats her varied vegetables every day.
Has 3 times per week access to seeds.
She had a lot of sunhours this summer, but now I'm looking for a recommended lightbulb.
