Pepper finally ate pellets!

Aside from now knowing he is at least eating some good for him food, I now know that it takes about 10 days for him to adjust to new foods. First the sprouts now the pellets both after about 10 days.

Way to go Pepper,

Yes birds do take a while to adjust to a new diet, but 10 days is pretty good. I've been trying to get Bucc onto Zupreem, (as well as harrisons) its only taken 2 years so far. :18:

Only two years? Wow, not taking any time at all is it? :D Sorry couldn't resist the sarcasm.

He doesn't eat pellets then? What does make up the bulk fo his diet if you don't mind me asking?

congrats on getting your baby on a healthier diet

Sidney was weaned on zupreem and eats them and i take him to the fridge for one healthy food a night that way i can clean up right after it and don't forget and let it get gross in his cage. Misty will eat both pellets and seed but right now she is eating mostly seed on vets reccomendation to fatten her up cuz her weight was so low she also eats cruchy snacks not much healthy food at all i'm sorry to say. Daisy is scared of anything but seed her breeder had them on a pellet and seed mix but she jsut picked out the seed. My vet said it was ok for the little guys like budgies and teils to be on mostly seed although the other guys needed the pellets. I wasn't too sure about this but I did what he told me and it seems to be working ok for the teils I figure at least they're happier that way. Sidney get a few seeds sprinkled over his food every now and which he loves. SO that is my guys eating habits.

Right now my guys are also on a seed diet (with lots of fresh foods too) but thats just because I can get a bag of seed for $5, but pellets cost allot more than $5.

Yeah for Pepper! Good job, both of you!

Yep he has harrisons but just lately we have trouble getting it so would like him to have a back up food if possible. Maybe in another 2 years he'll finally try one. :D You never can tell with our Bucc, think he's doing it because he hasn't yet seen me actually eat one  I've tried tricking him into thinking I'm eating one, but he just wants to see it in my mouth, so maybe one of these days thats what I'm gonna have to do. I'll let ya all know what I think of them. :D
