Ok, Iāve been on here long enough: no Parkerās NOT going anywhere.
However, I have an acquaintance on Instagram I correspond with who is at their whits end with their female eclectus. Itās unfortunately a story we hear all too often:
1. Bird is going through puberty, and
2. Has become aggressive in puberty, with owners not knowing how to cope,
2. In puberty, bird has become a one person bird, and in this pubertal-one-person ness, has chosen the non-caretaker as their primary interest, aggressive all others. This husband is NOT interested at all in the bird, and itās becoming a problem.
Birds been in puberty for about 9 months, with possibly a few mor months to go. Iād like to help this sweet lady however I can, though Iām not able to take the bird in. Does anyone have any resources I can point her to to help her out in properly rehoming this little bird?
Iām trying to help with some coping mechanisms to bridge the gap for them for now (with a small modicum of luck, maybe itāll get them to the point where the hormones ultimately settle and this wonāt have to happen). But if this is going to happen Iād like to help make it as painless for them as possible.
