Hey guys! As we all know the Blue crown owner fell through//: HOWEVER the breeder I got Kyro from has a baby with a lot more red and orange color than Kyro did and not to mention the bay is DNA'd female! I'm feel a bit better with the circumstances that i should be able to love the baby without emotional issues. Hopefully.. ha.. But either way I've planned the trip to visit her and see what she's like.

I also wanted to know if anyone has noticed any general behavior differences between the sexes? And I know, I know every bird is different but I'm just asking in a very general sense. From my research they are calmer but that's probably about it. I've read that females are quieter but having one before I'm pretty sure this will not be the case! Hahah but what do you think?

Although I don't know Sunny's in particular, my belief was that there's not really any difference in personality between male and female conures. It has much more to do with the parents, calm parents=calm baby bird (generally)

I don't have experience with Conures. I know your concern was if the bird reminded you too much of Kyro, and I do understand that concern, but this bird has a different coloration already apparent, besides having a completely different personality as an individual I'm sure. I'm excited for you! You'll know when you get there. When are you going?

Ya so I'm a little relieved honestly. She's four hours away so I had to plan the trip with work and all that but I'll be going on the 22nd! 10 days! She also sent me a few pics

I am kinda new to conures but in the 3 i have the 2 males are so to say calmer yet more outgoing, my young female Santana is very boisterous and mouthy but that could be her age as she just turned a year. She would rather get into everything and sass back so to say... i agree it does depend on the individual.... Good luck and i hope you have fun.

Look how much color she has and she's only 4 months old! Unfortunately she's clipped already but if I bring her home I'll definitely let them grow.

I hope she's a snuggler, that's my favorite trait lol

ZwphyrFly She really is, I'm just curious about what her adult coloration is going to look like

She's beautiful Danny. Some breeders work with handling the birds more than others, and I believe that besides individuality, it has a bit to do with tendency to be cuddly or not. Make it known to (any breeder) that you are specifically hoping for that trait, and if they normally don't they might pay some extra time toward cuddle socialization for you.
Please keep us posted after you see her.

Yes which I did let her know that was the most important trait for me. I don't care about anything else honestly lol if she snuggles everything else can be handled IMO. As you can see in my signature how much brighter she is then Kyro. He also didn't have any yellow til he was about a year old so she'll be stunning I'm sure.
I'll definitely take lots of pictures with her being a little more fluffy, she looks a little distracted being outside in that pic lol

My family is extremely excited haha they are set on me getting her which I'm hesitant. They don't understand why.

So I did a side by side. And it's quite apparent the differences with Kyro(left) at the same age! There are obvious color differences already and Kyro looks to be heavier, which he was a male so that makes sense lol im starting to get ansty!
