I have a favourite female canary of mine, her name is Mango. She's a beautiful orange canary. I've had her and her mate for a few years now, and they've had some beautiful babies. the other day I decided to change cages and separate them. She is now in with 5 other canaries, 2 of them males. I went into my bird room tonight to feed them, and my back was to Mango's cage. I could hear this canary singing, but was not familiar with this particular song. It was very unique and pretty to listen to.(I know all my males songs)I turned around to see who was singing, and low and behold is was my female!!...you could have knocked me over with a feather I stared at her in disbelief, but it was her.
I've always heard Mango chirp, all my females do, but never have I ever heard a female canary sing...and man can she sing!!!
