Does anyone have experience with the food this site sells? $29.00 for 4 pounds. I'm trying to get my two macaws off seed. I have introduced Harrision's High Potency Course to them but they are really resistant to it.:blue1:

I suggest you eat a pellet of parrot food and I think you'll gain a better understanding of why your birds don't want to eat it. They taste like cardboard and are disgusting. If you're concerned about your birds eating too much seed, try to get them on a soak and serve diet instead (much tastier and healthier). We use Volkman FeatherGolw soak and simmer mix- Volkman Seed Company in conjunction with their large hook bill seed mix. Lots of fresh fruit and veg too! Kiwi LOVES the cooked food, and you can make up a bigger batch, and save it in the fridge for 2 or 3 days. It's healthier than seeds too, and birds are more likely to eat something that doesn't taste like an old cardboard box.

P.S. I may be a little nutty, but I wouldn't feed Kiwi food I wouldn't eat myself, so I try any new type of food myself before I give it to him.

I too use Volkman Featherglow, but the 15 min soak and serve. Both my birds love it. The also get Harrison's / TOPS / fresh fruit and veggies. And a little seed

I ordered the Fancy Soak & Simmer and Birdeez Buffet from Volkman and it arrived today. I served both of the B&G The Birdeez buffet and the both started eating as soon as I put in the cages. I put a couple of the large Harrison's pellets in with it and they ate a few of those as well. Thanks for telling me about Volkman. QUESTION - How much of the Soak & Simmer do you cook at one time and how long do you store the cook food in the refrigerator?

Feed your flock is birdtricks.com I believe. Which is tops, repackaged, well that what I have read and heard anyway.

ditto to above.

Feed your flock is the exact same thing as Totally organic pellets. Same ingredients, same packaging, created in the same place ;) only difference it the label, and birdtricks puts a big price on it to make monaaaaay.

Check out the actual website Totally Organics TOP Organic Bird Pellets for the pellets, and buy through them or through My Safe Bird Store | Discounted Bird Products | BIRD FREE ENVIRONMENT| Free Shipping Available

I feed Harrison's pellets to my African grey Kenji, and Harrison's and TOPS to my galah Rosie. Both pellet are very good, but I feel combining them and feeding both is the best.
