I forgot to add that I am thinking Blue-Headed Pionus, but I've never seen one with such a bright blue head, usually they are a much darker blue, almost navy. Just beautiful!

You got it, Ellen! Talli is indeed a Blue-Headed Pionus!
Wow, definitely the most beautifully colored Blue-Headed Pionus I've ever seen! I love all of the Pionus species, such cool birds! I almost took one in around a year ago, people up in New England were rehoming their 5 year old blue headed, they were good people but they had gotten the poor bird as a newly weaned baby and he had basically been either locked in his cage by himself or locked in the room his cage was in by himself. He wouldn't leave the top of his cage, he just SAT there all day long, every day for 5 years with no interaction. They took very good care of him, great diet, vet care, huge cage, lots of toys. But they had not paid much attention to him from the beginning, he became aggressive, and so he lived in a back room by himself with no interaction at all except when they went in to feed him or clean the cage 😢. They finally wanted to give him to someone who would work with him and give him attention, and I was all ready to make the 8 hour drive to go pick him and all of his belongings up and make him a part of my family, but they suddenly cut off all contact. I can only hope he's doing well... I'm still sad when I think about that little guy!

Awww, thank you so much, Ellen:) Talli is a great boy, we love him so much. What a shame that it didn't work out for you to get that Pi, he would have stolen your heart. I only hope he is in as wonderful a home as he would have had with you.

Ok here is a pic of part of Salty's chain link 'highway' , festooned with his favorite toys. it's how he gets around the house, since he is not flighted. The chains go from his cage to his round hanging boing to the couch to the TV area and back to his cage. WHen he wants to he runs a marathon on them. He almost never plays on his cage top and never in his cage. The cage is for sleeping and for his water and pellets. Salty gets his lunch ( fruits) and dinner( veggies) in a bowl on his round boing. He loves his chain highways, sometimes hanging by one toe as he sings his "I'm a Amazon" song.

I love Salty's superhighway, I want to build a Too version for Poppy, she might as well have all the space she isn't already using.

Mr. Wrench... that is a wonderful idea for unflighted birds!
I bet you've started a great fad.
I can practically hear all the rattling toys, chains and ropes now.

Just for fun, again, while I'm making up my mind. My ol' man thinks it's creepy but I love it for some reason...

I think this is hysterical, but then again, I'm not a Rival...[emoji13]

I'm half-a-notion to make this my entry, just to show him a thing or two.

Me too, I think about him often. I know they were having a lot of pain about rehoming him, they really did love him. I always tell myself that they decided to keep him and finally started to incorporate him into their family. I picture that they moved his cage into their main living room, that they let him out to sit on top of his cage and that they talk to him all day long now, and they are close enough now that he sits with them on the couch, snuggling and getting scritches...I hope I'm right.

Precious photo of Sweetie!

Ummm, I'm starting to get my feelings hurt! Does this mean our male mods are more popular than the females? It's already the eighth, I thought we'd have at least a few entries by now.

***Just For Fun***

Wilson being a blue quaker parrot and loving it!
Lita did not want to be outdone by Wilson!

I love Lita, she looks like such a sweetheart! Are you certain she's a quaker?

***Just For Fun***

Poppy truly LOVES to run into a freshly cleaned cage and take a three bowl bath. I refill it twice just to watch her have fun plus she soaks herself and everything around her, it takes a mop and three bowls to clean up but it's worth it.

Yes, he's a Quaker alright! I was told by his breeder he was a female and was given the DNA test results in writing from the lab, I still have them. I paid the breeder $30 to do the DNA test and she obviously did do it. Right from the start he acted like a male to me, especially around the female green cheek I had at that time. They bonded right away and then my green cheek died in a horrible accident with a good friend of mine and a door, and Lita was just as devastated as I was. Then I adopted my current male green cheek, Bowie, and they bonded immediately as well, but in a completely different way. Then he started head bobbing and regurgitating for me, so I figured what the hell, and I had my avian vet run a DNA test just to be sure, and it came male. So I had the test repeated at a different lab and it came back male as well. So the original lab that my breeder used made a mistake...So yes, Lita Ford (named after my female guitar hero) is indeed a dude! [emoji33]

The pic above is from the first week I brought him home, he was just 9 weeks old. He has always looked a bit different to me than other Quakers I see, I can't really put my finger on what it is though. He was from a clutch of 7, 3 blues and 4 greens, and they all looked the same but Lita. He came right to me when the breeder let the 3 available babies out in the room with me. Flew directly over to me, landed on my knee, climbed up my shirt to my shoulder, and snuggled under my ear. So that was that, lol. He's a sweetheart and I wouldn't trade him for anything in the world. I love Quakers, they have such a different type of personality than other birds, and Lita is nothing but a little clown! He loves to lay on his back and play with his little ball, and hang upside down like a bat from his play gym. I can't imagine not having him for entertainment! Here's a current pic...

Charlotte has trouble with balance, and walking long distances on an arm or shoulder is just too much for her. This is our solution.

This is a photo of my Vinny I use as a background on my laptop. :rainbow1:

I took it with my big Nikon, I'm trying to be a photographer....But the only thing I seem to photograph are my parrots...:p :rainbow1:
They're just too cute and photogenic!

Thanks!
