I have a male 17yr old Orange Wing Amazon named Mr. Precious & a 15yr old female Harlequin Macaw named Merlin & a 3 year old male GW named Rocco.
I just got involved in a project called Feather Depot started by Jay Lyn Blalock. They are looking for feather donations for fans, etc used in their Native American church services, powwows, etc. Nothing is ever sold or traded. If you think you may be interested in helping with project, please pm me. Feather Depot has photos & albums of the fans, etc & a lot more information.
Thanks.:red1:

I am not sure of this project.

Where I live, the Bands have arrangements with the State DNR and the Federal government that provide North America Protected Bird, i.e... their feathers. All of those Feathers are from birds found in our State, since it is unlawful to have feathers from those birds without State documents.

I state upfront that I have no knowledge of the specific 'requirements' of the Michigan Native America's adornments. But of the Michigan events that I have seen, all Feathers have been from Michigan Native Birds.

I know that members of our local Parrot Group donates their parrot feathers to a Band in SW Michigan. They use them to make Dream Catchers, etc... that they sell to support special projects.

I see no reason not to provide parrot feathers (NON- PROTECTED SPECIES) to Native American Bands for their use, even if they obtain a profit from those Feathers. Non-Native American groups, well that's up to the individual.

I am aware of the requirements for protected species. They are looking for Macaw feathers for their religious fans. I too don't have a problem with anything being sold but some may be. And, any Native Americans requesting them from Feather Depot are required to not sell, barter or trade them.
