If you want chills, The Skeleton Key with Kate Hudson.

I don't watch horror movies a lot anymore but "Blaire witch project" was one of the first I ever watched so that holds a special place in my heart. Same with "haunting in Connecticut"

some of those aren't scary but suspenseful, event horizon I'd say is sorta scary. It depends on jump scares vs....I'm gonna drink my self to sleep so I don't dream kinda movie....

Tami listed pretty much all of my favorite scary movies.... but I have a few to add:

The Grudge
The Babadook
Insidious (all of them)
Anabelle Origin (the second one, not the first Anabelle which stank)

Series:
The Haunting of Hill House (Netflix, REALLY good!)

Yes Bill, that was indeed a very good movie!

The BWP, wasn't my cup of tea. I really don't enjoy the 'home' movie type feel with a constantly moving/shaking camera.
Loved the 'Haunting in CT'. Thank you. :)

YES!!! I saw them all with the exception of Babadook. I'm going to look for that one right now... ha :D Thx.

"The Sound of Music". The littlest Von Trapp kid just scares the hell out of me.

Really ..... ? 🤔

Now I'm going to have to look him/her up. I don't remember any of them being creepy. ha :D That's funny Al, thanks for sharing! :)

Children being Evil in movies is quite scary, The Omen, The Exorcist, The Orphan, The Good Son, and lets not forget Children of the Corn & The Brood.

The Babadook was SUCH a good movie. It was great as a scary movie, but it was also great because of the underlying story. Normally I hate scary movies that have some kind of Message being preached, but this wasn't preaching, just sharing a perspective. :)

Okay, thank you. 🥰
We are going to try & watch it tonight, if we can find it on Netflix, Amazon, Hulu etc...

I'll chime in on behalf of the oldies... for me, nobody is more mesmerizing than Bela Lugosi in old, scratchy, black-and-white fabulousness!
"I never drink... vine!"

I like the orphanage in Spanish [ame="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nUZQgqxIZ6s&disable_polymer=true"]THE ORPHANAGE - Official Trailer - Directed by J. A. Bayona - YouTube[/ame]

and of course...THE BAD SEED! :) [ame="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IFYoKJIreew"]The Bad Seed (1956) - Smart and mean - YouTube[/ame]

OH-- AND "What Lies Beneath"
