Fargo- Blue and Gold Macaw
So fargo first talked one week ago but i havent had a good video of it! he says it at night time when hes on his gym, when music is playing and when i vacuum.. he is starting to chatter some other words as well.

Today he went on adventure to my mums room and he had never seen a mirror before... he was very excited, he just sat there saying hello to himself !
It isn't super clear, but at least he is trying, he is still very young! :) its more like 'herro' haha

so here is fargo saying hello to you all (or to himself ;) )

Hey Tab , that's a great start! He reminds me of Jack who loves to say "hello" to himself in the mirror. And BTW, I've found that for whatever reason the sound of vacuum cleaners really prompts some of them to switch into talking mode. My air-pop popcorn popper's motor noise also has that effect. My Zaffer is one of those birds who gets the urge to start talking when he hears the vacuum or the popper running.

Fargo is quite a cutie... keep the videos coming :)

thank you :D i think he thought he was talking to another macaw haha

oh really! my old bird used to just scream over the vacuum.. and when i started vacuuming, fargo just sat there saying hello, hello, hello hahah

that was pretty clear to me! Remington says "hello there" when he looks in the mirror!

Yeah, I'm not sure why but certain birds get the gab urge from the whine of a vacuum motor. Glad Fargo's doing so well and seems so happy :)

I love macaws voices hehe!

i actually thought all birds had the same voice  until i compared my old quakers voice saying hello to fargo's hello.. and the quakers was so much higher pitched and squeaky haha :p

When I use the shopvac in the bird area........they don't talk, they yell as loud as they can

Great vid!!! Just wished the GW's would chatter like the Zon's do

hahah its weird how some birds talk and others yell with the vac :p

thanks :) its pretty impressive after almost 3 weeks of him being here :D

wharfrat do your gw's talk at all?

AAWWW!!! Fargo's come SUCH a long way with you. Listen to him, I love it!!

As for mirrors, Niko goes into full blown attack mode when I pass one and he gets a glimpse of himself. Feathers up, wings out, bobbing up and down and even hissing. Hilarious, I tell you, but also a bit intimidating. As soon as he's calmed down he'll go: "What WAS that?" LOL. :)

thank you :)

hahahhaha niko is awesome :p obviously he doesnt trust this random macaw he sees in the mirror ;)

You're right, he sure doesn't. When I take him to my bedroom and put him on my bed, there is a huge wardrobe next to it, fully mirrored, and boy he gets himself all in a tissy over it.

As for vacuums, my Amazons sing and talk, while Niko sits on his highest perch on the playtree and gives me the evil eye as if he was saying "Are you done yet?" :54:

Not really but they're trying, by far the Zon's are the chattiest of them all. I'm being patient though, the Zon's developed (matured) much faster than the GW's and all their cages are close together so I'm hoping it will rub off.
