I took my B&G to the post office one day, and the postmaster freaked. Told me to never bring a dangerous animal to his post office again. He was not a happy camper.

No wonder the postal service is going bankrupt.

Are you serious!?!
Wow!! Thats horrible

Our postman is a very nice irishman :09: He is always delivering toys for Fargo from the post, im sure he would like him haha

Tab - I am so glad your day trip with Fargo went well! He was such a good birdie! I have to laugh that someone gave you their phone number! That is just classic! LOL! Keep up the good work with Fargo. I look forward to hearing about more of his adventures!

It's great to go on Fargo's adventure with him via the photos. I hope he had fun making new friends in town. What a good boy to let them rub his head.

P.S. that must have been a brave guy to think he could get past Fargo on our shoulder to meet you. If you call him, tell him Fargo will have to talk to him first and and let you know if he approves the new guy :) :)

I think it is great. I noticed when I am out with my bird people stare, come to look at it, or are afraid of birds (even small ones). One reason I am excited about getting a mini macaw is so I can take him around maybe hide him in the hood of my coat, jacket or sweater. Fargo, is such a polite bird.

Haha thanks guys! I took lots of photos just so you guys could re-live his day ;)

LOL That guy must of been very brave :54:

Oh Abigal i think people assume birds just stay in a cage, so when they see one out and about they get a little confused .. That would be very cute!!
If only Fargo was a little smaller so i could sneak him in my jumper :p

Very polite, his mumma must of taught him some nice manners hey :22:

Fargo is in a very good mood today.. He NEVER has said a single word in the mornings, he is sooo quiet, never wakes me up.. This morning i was woken up by him whispering!!! Cutest thing ever.. :09:

It was just like- mum... mum.. wake up.. i am being quiet.. but.. wake up :p

That's so cool that you could bring him into town like that! I wish I could take my guys out and about with me. Just to get them out of the house would be nice. They lack any and all manners toward strangers so it would be nearly impossible. We're working on it! I'll show them Fargo's pictures and tell them "SEE! This is how you're supposed to behave! Why do you have to be so naughty all the time!?" I'm sure they'll listen really well to me when I tell them that. :p

Hahahaha Fargo- The perfect role model for any bird ;)

Maybe he should run a training class :54:

But, at home, Fargo doesnt really like people touching him except for me, he will if they are patient and wait, he hates my mum and dad though.. But as soon as he goes outside on his harness he goes into a very shy little boy, because he is out of his comfort zone in his kingdom so he doesnt have his big scary attitude, but instead the sweet nice boy :p

So maybe when you take your guys out they will have a different behavior because they arent king of the castle anymore :09:

The post office near my house is pretty cool with people bringing their pets in the lobby as long as they're not out and about destroying things. I'm currently on vacation in Arizona and I got yelled at (I felt like a small child who did something horrible because I didn't think animal=no no at post office omg you're gonna get beat END OF THE WORLD) when I took my friend's dog that I was dog sitting to the post office with me. We made the 1 mile walk to drop off some postcards and there was no way I wasn't dropping them off after making that journey. Leela is a tiny 5 almost 6 pound dog that I had on my hip when I walked in the lobby to drop the postcards off. It wasn't my fault the outside slot was overstuffed and people were still trying to shove more mail into it. I spent a total of maybe 30 seconds in the lobby with her on my hip and got yelled at as soon as I went to hand him the postcards that no pets were allowed in the lobby. He was very loud and very rude about it to the point where Leela got upset and panicky over his raised voice. (she's a rescue who was abused as a puppy and because of the abuse only has one eye) He didn't like it when I told him somebody needed to go do their *insert nasty choice word* job and empty the outside slot so people with or without animals didn't have to come inside.

I would probably go nuts if I saw somebody with their B&G out in public or in my workplace. My co workers and the person with the bird would think I was crazy. They're my favorite of the "bigger" birds and I'm happy just looking at them, lol

Some people do have a fear of birds I also have to say a macaw's beak stires itimidation in people. I find them to be beautiful birds but do not doubt they can cause stitches if they wanted to. I am working on getting a min macaw and I had someone comment on the mini macaw pics emailed to me that their beaks are too big. If I found a tame and mellow Blue and Gold macaw I might consider it but I put my conure and dogs saftey pretty high which is one reason I decided on a mini macaw.

Great pics Tab! Sounds like you and Fargo had a great time! When are you calling the guy? ;)

I agree that some people are just scared of birds - doesn't matter how big the birds are (although I'd say a bigger bird would be scarier lol). My sister in law is PETRIFIED of birds! She will literally drag herself across the wall on the opposite side of the room rather than be close to my lovebirds (in there cage!)... Luckily she doesn't visit very often lol... My mums Galah pretty much has free reign of her house 24/7, and my sis in law refuses to go there...

Some people are scared of spiders, and some are scared of birds :/

Oh Tonka thats exactly like my brother, he is petrified of Fargo, even when he is on his harness!

I think if the bird is friendly it should be allowed to go into places, of course if it bites then its not safe...

I can just say that Fargo is my emotional companion and i need him with me at all times... hehe :54: Would love to see what happens if i took him into a shopping centre...

HAHA- i actually got my friend to text this guy, and i said something about Fargo, and the guy said- I saw him yesterday haha he's so cute! It was hard to choose who was getting my number

Thanks Mel, i am glad, i always have stories to tell haha :09:
