Fargo- Blue and Gold Macaw
Wow what a big day... i am soooo tired and my head hurts

We left at 9am, it was a 40 minute drive, Fargo sat there on my hand PERFECTLY for the first 20 minutes... then we stopped, hopped out, and he went potty.. good boy

Then the next 20 minutes he got car sick- and was sooo sooky, so sat cuddled into my chest..

We finally got to town, hopped out of the car, in mums work building there are other stores, and one guy came out and was like- if you need a home for that guy we can look after him... and i was just like no....its ok.. hahaha

So we got into mums work, its only a very small little family type business, and they all LOVED Fargo, and Fargo was perfect, let everyone scratch him!

Bernie is about 70-80 years old, he chuckled when Fargo stuck his tongue out

Susan was so excited when she saw Fargo, she always likes his pictures on facebook, so she wanted to hold him and give him pats..

Everyone thought he was so well behaved!

Then we had morning tea, and mum talked to people while me and Fargo just walked around..

Said goodbye to everyone, gave Bernie a hug, while Fargo was on my shoulder, Fargo was SOOOO jealous and just growled and made his sad little sound and just wanted Bernie to let go of me hahahaha

After that we went to dads work, it was just around the corner, Fargo sat on my shoulder in the car, not the safest but yeah

Dad works with a few other men, all about 50-60, and they thought Fargo was beautiful, one guy wants to get one haha Then one gave him some scratches, and we just talked..

THEN we went to the pet shop, super quickly, cause i needed to get some cage cleaning stuff, i had run out!

Of course, all the birds in there are just small ones, when i walked in everyone just stared at Fargo, and 2 shopkeeper guys came over to say hi, and Fargo was just sitting in my arms and i was giving him kisses and they were like, he is such a sook! haha

There was a young guy in there looking at the birds for sale, and i swear the whole time he didnt take his eyes off Fargo :09:

Then hopped back in the car, and i took his harness off, and let him sit in his cage for the long trip home!

But then he was so tired, he just needed some cuddles for a little bit

The whole time Fargo was just perfect and didnt try and fly away at all, he stayed glued to my shoulder or arm, unless i wanted him to step onto someone! Didnt try and bite anyone, was very friendly, so proud!

Oh and off topic, this was the first time i have gone out for like a month.... Walked into mums work, next thing, a note was slipped under the door for me from these guys who were sitting outside  it said- to the beautiful girl in the brown boots, white jumper and white jeans, that gave me a cute smile on her way in.. here's my number..

 That is the most random thing ever... that has never happened to me before... Fargooooo you guy magnet hahahahha

I am so glad you had a good outing with Fargo. Like you I don't go out much myself but that is all changing now that I will start classes next month. Now I HAVE to go out. *sigh*

Such adorable pics and thank you for posting about how well he did. I miss taking my birds out in public. I use to take my boys out in public quite often. All three were use to it and loved it. My RFM has never been out in public. Julio is use to making public appearances for the adoption so eventually it is my hope to get him out socializing again.

Thats awesome!I hope me and Echo can go out in public sometime, but that probably won't happen for years cause hes such a naughty bird.Plus I'd be terrified that someone would try to steal him.

That's awesome! It's so fun to bring exotic birds to places, seeing the amazed faces of people of all ages who are seeing a medium-large parrot for the first time. It never gets old :)

Fargo is a star and deserving so
Fun was had by all, especially Fargo
Those pictures are stunning, Fargo sure loves the camera and mixing with different people.
You are fortunately enough to take him out

Unfortunately Mishka is not so fortunate to mix with the public
After those threatening cell phone calls, where the guy wanted to purchase Mishka and take him overseas etc I am too afraid to step outside with Mishka.

Thanks for sharing

Fargo looks so happy! What a well socialized bird. It looks like he had a blast on the trip!

Darcy loves car rides! He always dances and makes noises and laughs with the radio talk show hosts. He's kind of picky about who can handle him, although he LOVES the people he chooses!

Hahaha yes the last time i went out was 13th of April... I try and get out once a month ;)

Oh Noble, fingers crossed you get to take your guys out soon! :)

Ahhh birdlover im sure it would be fine! In australia, macaws are ALOT rarer, but Fargo is on me the whole time, so no one has the chance to steal him! Even if they did try, Fargo would bite them ;)

HAHA yes Ashley, there was an old lady driving past, and i swear she had the strangest look on her face :52:

Hehe Ant, when we were in the pet shop, the birdkeeper magazine was on the counter, and mum showed them our article, and the guy said ' Oh we should get you and Fargo to both sign the magazine for us ;) ' hahaha!

That creepy man wanting to buy Mishka was horrible:( I totally understand you dont want to run the risk, everyone wants a bird like Mishka!

Hahaha Remy thats adorable :p I just saw your thread with pictures, Darcy certainly loves the outdoors! :D

i want to get Fargo a little perch for the car so i dont have to hold my hand up as a perch the whole time ;)

I cant believe he was car sick though, thats insane! I get car sick as well, so we were both sitting there not feeling very well!

Fargo lets anyone scratch him, but only his neck and head, and it takes a while before he will step up onto them, today he would put one foot on their arm, and then pause, and just run back to me haha

Thata so lovely :) Fargo is your wingman! Your getting all the boys haha

Glad you had such a nice day, Fargo is so lovely,

Catch up soon :)

x

:D Awesome pictures and writeup, Tab!!! I'm SO glad you got to go. Will you be doing it again??

I'm sorry Fargo got car sick. Never thought that would happen. Maybe he felt a bit dizzy from looking out the side window?

So....have you called the person who slipped his number under the door yet? :09: (just kidding)

Did Fargo do any tricks? I am AMAZED he let other people pat him! That is SO incredibly awesome!!!! :D That is also something those lucky folks won't ever forget. ;)

Thanks Josh! Yes he is definitely the best wingman haha :09:

Hehe Wendy i made sure i got lots of pictures for you! I left my ipod in the car, and i left Fargo with mum while i ran back to get it, and he was such a good boy waiting for me! :)

Yes i was so surprised, but our roads are INCREDIBLY windy, and he was staring out the whole time, which would make me very sick as well :p but it was ok, on the way home he was fine :D

LOL Mum told dad and a guy at dads work was like 'We should call up and do a very deep manly voice and say- thank you for saying i am beautiful, most people dont think i am, this wig is great' hahahahaha :p :54:

He didnt do many, he was pretty shy, he said hello and kiss on command, stick em up, tongue out and wave :p

Hehe thank you! Yes he seems to let anyone touch him, he was just so well behaved :')

It's incredible he did any tricks at all, Tab because he was in a strange environment! WOW WOW WOW!!!! That Fargo is just FULL of surprises. :D

Will you be doing this again...in a month or so?

Hehehe! :09:Such a good boy!!!! And to think he wasnt very social as a baby! :D

Oh i hope soo!! Not sure when, i dont really have places to go, because only went out today to get the horse rug..

So i am not sure where else i can go or do  :(

That's so cool. I am hoping we can take Lucy out soon, but she has stared bullying kids lately, and Phoenix is a rehome/rescue that we just got so we are going to work with him a bunch.

Awesome!!! I love the pics and the adventures of Fargo. :D

Was the guy who slipped u his number cute/attractive? :09: You know, Fargo is not gonna want to share him mum with anyone. Spencer is my wingman, so to speak, and is very adamant about making men keep their distance from me. Litterally glued to my shoulder staring, large and in charge, Which is fine with me, Spencer is more intelligent then some of the men anyway:11::eek:

You make my day Tab and you and Fargo always put a smile on my face!;)

Fargo is such an awesome bird :D. Glad you both enjoyed your time out! I LOVE all your pictures!

Susan said that when i meet a guy, Fargo has to meet him first and make sure he approves hahahaha :54:

Thank you all :D He is very awesome!

Lucy is only 9 months so we go time lol. I think I would freak out if my wife drove with one of the birds on her arm, and she has a compact car so neither would fit on her shoulder let alone Lucy would be giving her a wet willy the whole time lol. How are those harnesses we have one, but haven't used it yet?

ohhhh yes she is still a baby! loads of time :) Fargo is a year and 4 months

HAHAHA! I am sure that would be an interesting car trip! :09:

They are great, very safe, i have no fear Fargo could get out of it, and he is alot better with it than when we first started, he doesnt chew at it at all unless he gets very bored which didnt happen at all today haha

It took me a while to become good at putting it on, but now i am super quick, still practicing at taking it off better though

I took my B&G to the post office one day, and the postmaster freaked. Told me to never bring a dangerous animal to his post office again. He was not a happy camper.

No wonder the postal service is going bankrupt.
