Extending Java stand

A while ago I bought a Java tree table stand. You all know that for 30cm (1 ft) larger you pay a lot more.

So I bought a reasonable sized one and decided to extend it.

I got a block of wood that would have gone into the fire place in winter, and shaped it a bit.

Added some screws.

And voilà...

Kiki loves it.

And I saved some €..

Nice, I need to do this as well as the GF hates Enzo's ugly metal stand. Can you tell me what those screws are called please?

EDIT:

Double ended screws....... derr...

My stand is about 75mm diameter at the bottom, ill see if i can get a large screw to hold them in place
