Exotic Birds

I'd have to say Kookaburra. I love their calls!
Kookaburras have a call that rivals the loudest of parrots. I remember getting woken up one morning in a cabin in the countryside of Victoria to the laughing of hundreds of kookaburras over the mountains and echoing in the valleys. It was so amazingly loud that it sounded like they were only a few meters away!

Later in the day when everything settles down, you can feed some of the wild parrots that come to visit your porch. But they all quickly disappear for no apparent reason, and before you know it you have a few kookaburras visiting to get a free feed as well. The native parrots seem to hate kookaburras, and I think I know why... they tend to swoop at Birdy if I leave him unattended on the porch!

Lol I'd have a Kookaburra if I lived somewhere it was warm year round and Burra could stay outside lol. Or I'll just YouTube Kookaburra whenever I want to hear them and not be deafened :p

I love my Quaker but it was an African Grey that inspired me to get a parrot. When I did my research I decided on a Quaker to start with. I have no regrets about bringing Piper home ♡

I'd say my list of birds I don't care for is easier to name off than birds I like. I have NO desire for any of the big Macaws.. I like my fingers and my ear drums. No Cockatoos for me either for same reasons. They scare me. They're beautiful, but scary.

I also love the Lammergier, but another bird I love is the argus pheasant. Massive display feathers on the male!

That reminds me, I'm going to ask a zoo keeper for one of the pheasants this winter/summer!
One year, I got all the tail feathers from a green peacock, I got stared at a lot that day haha

My favorite (right now) has to be the Great Indian Hornbill

I saw those at the St. Louis zoo. They have an amazing bird exhibit, go see it if you're in the area. They also have some Hyacinths.

And all this time I thought my Greenwing WAS an exotic bird! :red1:
