Riley-white faced grey cockatiel (hatch date 6-28-2014) RIP Halloween-pied cockatiel
So for the last month I have been bugging you guys pretty much nonstop about my new baby Riley. Well the breeder contacted me this morning and She is ready to come home and I will be getting her at 11:30!!!!! I am soooooooooo excited next time I post on here there will be pictures of her and she will be home.

That is so exciting! I can't wait to see the pictures of her when you get home:) Looks like you got the cage set up just in time.

Oooooooh! Congratulations! You're so lucky the breeder contacted you the same day you can get her. I bet you wouldn't have slept if you knew last night you'd get your baby today. I certainly wouldn't. Better than Christmas!

I was VERY excited to wake up and see I had two texts this morning one was from a friend making sure I was ok and to let me know if I needed anything to let him know and he'd take care of it. The other one was from the breeder apologizing to me about not getting back to me friday and that her partners appointment didn't go well but that the birds are having really bad night frights especially Riley and the Albino one. She was also able to tell me Rileys Hatch date was June 28th which means that on thursday Riley will be 2 months old. I'm guessing thats partly why her feathers are so rough looking but I am sure the feathers will smooth out with time. Sadly because I HAD to get her at 11:30 this morning it meant Riley had to spend a few hours in her flight cage as I had to leave her at my grandmothers house while I went to my appointment today at noon (my grandmothers house is closer to the breeders than mine and I was on a tight schedule). However the entire time she was in the car , from the breeders to my grandmother and my grandmothers to my house, she kept right next to me, her travel cage was in the passenger seat both times, so I would stick my finger in the cage and she would beak it and then bend her head down to be petted which I couldnt do she didn't like that too much. Anyways now she is home and in her big flight cage. I am not going to give her any out of cage time today because I want her to get aquainted with the cage especially knowing she is prone to night frights. Plus she hasn't moved off her "foraging" perch yet but thats ok she's just getting adjusted and she went straight to sleep after I put her in there :/. And is it just me or does she have REALLY big feet for a baby? The first pic is of her in the travel cage.

I lied I brought her out for a few minutes a crated Rocky was less than thrilled to be crated but it's for Riley's safety. I wore my safety sweatshirt because my favorite one is broken :( but it's getting fixed :). I also had to show her her water dish because I was a little worried since she hasn't had water since I picked her up from the breeders she drank right away thankfully then I showed her the food dish and she ate a few pellets so then I started showing her various perches and she LOVES her swing it's the one I've seen her move around on the most and chew on the cotton and the wood which is great because I love her swing as well. I put on all perches except her dowel for a few moments the only one she really seems to love is the swing. I have more pics in her album

Thank you RavensGryf. I know I have been talking about her forever Im happy shes finally home. She seems to be as well though she is unbalanced from losing her tail feathers during a night fright.

Riley is gorgeous! And no wonder she likes that swing, it is awesome!
I am so glad she is home with you now:)

She's really cute! Hehe, her feet do look a little big in the first picture, but I'm sure they're fine. Adorable!

I had no intentions of buying a swing when I went in to Petco friday because I was looking for perches. but I saw it and I was like OMG THIS SWING IS AWESOME and its is natural and provides a nice width so I had to buy it. It's sized for a cockatoo sized bird but as we all know variety is good for a birds feet. But I'm glad she likes it.

I wish we had a Petco here, I haven't seen one like that. Awesome find!

A small win just happened Riley has started playing with a toy. Happens to be the toy the breeder sent home but its a good sign. I think she's overwhelmed by the amount of space she has. But she will adjust I'm sure.
