hi, so today is my birthday and im jumping at every opertunity that my chances of getting a bird even slightly go up. i have some birthday money so that helps too. first of all i know many people get budgies for their kids because some oconsider them "easy" or "disposable", i know hey are intellegent loving unique creatures that deserve just as much respect as larger birds. i have done my research and this bird would be spoiled rotten, loved to death, hours of out of cage time, exellent nutrition, and just be showered with love. that being said, there are a few adult english budgies at my local pet store for 95$, there are also american budgies for 20$. i am particular intrested in the english budgies because they are larger and supposedly easy to tame. none of the budgies at the store are very tame. would it be worth getting one there and trying to tame it, or driving a little farther to a breeder with hand raised english budgies for 75$ thank you very much for any help!!!:D

Personally, I would go to the breeder over the pet store. I hope you get a bird! :)

I would go with a breeder over the pet store too, especially if it's a big chain store.

I've never had an English budgie, but I think it would be fun!

i think i agree, that way i can handle the birds more. alkso its not a chain store, its a privately owned store and the owner takes exeptional care of the birds, in fact he keeps some of his birds in the store sometimes, although i know wat u mean, some chain stores are rly bad, but i have also been to chain stores that are better than some private ones so i think it depends. are there any major differences in personality between english and american budgies?

English Budgies are just a bit bigger then the regular Parakeets. Where in the world are you at with the Budgies going up that high??? I used to breed English Budgies and they were never that high on price! Handfed babies makes great pets, Parakeets can be just as easy to tame when young. Just get a solitary young one, do not get multiple if your intending on taming it.
