Hey Guys,
Sorry I havent been online in a while... Life got away from me... I've been working long hours, my car broke down and I have been looking for a new one... My "down" time has been spent building new hideaways for my reptiles...
Anyway, Last Wednesday, (the day my car broke down on me) was my four year anniversary with my best friend. We both had to work that day so our celebrations were for the most part put on hold. I had gotten out of work at 7pm that night after working an 11hr shift and had driven my not so safe to drive car to my mothers house so I could pick up a car from her that I could drive until I found a new one. By the time I had gotten home it was after 8pm and my boyfriend had an amazing dinner of Clams, homemade calamari and Cesar salads made up. It was a great meal!
We decided to celebrate our anniversary on Sunday being that we both had off. For two weeks we plans to successfully hike a a State preserve near where we live., Now we had hiked this preserved before...one month after we had started dating four years ago and had somehow gotten off the trail and lost and what was supposed to be a 3 hour hike turned into a 6 hour hike. so we wanted to recreate the hike and not get lost this time.
I had been working many hours and many odd end jobs to get money for my car, so when my boyfriend kept telling me, "Sunday we are going for a hike and you will be mine that day" I didnt think much of his subtle clues.
We had found a nice rock overhang that looked over the Valley before and he had set up his camera to time a picture of us. So there I was standing on this rock overhand and he started walking away from his camera which is set up on the rock to stand by me for what I thought was a picture. but then I noticed that his camera wasn't flashing like it usually does so I had asked him if it was set up properly to which he said. "yes", and promptly got to his knee.
I was blown away and surprised! The "picture" he was taking wasn't a picture after all but a video. He captured the moment perfectly!
The ring he gave me is beautiful and was already technically owned by me Nearly ten years ago my Great Grandmother and namesake died and left me a beautiful diamond ring in her will. Being that I was so young at the time of her death my mom had held onto the ring for safekeeping. I had not seen the ring since her death except for a few weeks ago when my mom took it out of her storage to show me after innocently bringing up stories of my great grandma. What she was really doing was giving my boyfriend an opportunity to see the ring. I had left the ring with my mom for safe keeping and would you know she gave it to my boyfriend a few weeks later...
I am ecstatic! I am going to Marry the man I love!
Sorry for the long post. I really really want to share the story with you!
