Nice! She is learning really quickly. Isn't it rewarding to work with such smart birds?

Yes it sure is and Elsa learned this without a single treat as I havent as yet figured out what she likes or even if she will take a treat from my hand as she has so far accepted nothing Ive offered in the line of a treat not even millet ... they are so clever :)

WOW! Elsa is so smart! She was so meant to be with you, Mary, you two have such a connection already. I am so thrilled to be able to watch your journey together:)
I love that set up you have for her.

Thanks Terry we have been working on her going through a roll tube since yesterday just the roll tube in my hand Then this morning I was in town and I saw the cubes in the hamster section of the pet store so I brought them home with me and set them up connecting the cubes with the roll which fitted snugly into the holes and Elsa just went through the tube as if it had been in the cubes from day one and came out the other cube without it phasing her at all...she is way braver than Mr Biggles or Peter Pan when it comes to new toys.

A big round of applause for the Magnificent Elsa and her wonderful trainer with the, oh so pretty accent! Mary, Elsa's circus props are too cute. She's such a lovely girl, thank you for sharing the journey!

Hee hee Jim Im still going WOW shes here as I wasnt expecting a budgie for another few weeks yet. Elsa came to stay with me on June 19th...shes doing well at settling in and is none the worse for her experience of being picked on by the other budgies in the pet shop and has actually stopped squawking when I put my hand into her cage and she seems to know she wont be grabbed or chased ...shes like she has been here all her life. The few tricks she has started learning are just ways of making the step up command more interesting for both me and Elsa, every trick begins or ends with either s step up or a step down, plus these are things that most budgies learn fairly easily...Budgies are awfully smart and for the size of them can easily challange any of the larger species when it comes to intelligence. You do have to make things interesting for them otherwise they get bored playing and will fly off...when Elsa gets fed up playing she will fly off to a perch away from the training area and then I know its time to stop whether the training session is over or not.

I was shopping today so I bought a little motor for Elsa...I keep calling it a car but actually its a little motorbike and she can perch on the handlebars as I tug it along...hee hee it took a couple of goes before she cottoned on to the fact that she was supposed to stay perched on the handlebars as it moved and we also added a little ladder climbing for fun...she doesnt like the top rung of the ladder though as it has a twirley thingy on it but I have that sorted for tomorrows fun and games as I have replaced it with a plain runged ladder so she will be pleased about that in the morning. I got Mr Biggles a new game but he doesnt like it he's not as brave as Elsa and is scared of the new ring game I got LoL and I also got a fairytale for PeterPan. Elsa snd Mr Biggles and Peter Pan are all in bed now for the night and I cant wait for the morning when all the fun starts again :)
