Ok folks this one is for the ages...

I decided that George has been such a good boy that I would give him a few peanuts as a treat today. That is when the strange stuff started happening.

He dove right in, like I expected and loves them... but.. UT OHHH PROBLEM!!!

He couldn't stop sneezing while he was chewing on them. Here is a link to a VIdeo so you can see.

Have any of you ever come across this before?

I have called the vet, and waiting on a call back, and I took the peanuts away from him and cleaned his beak.. he stopped sneezing..

I must have the only bird on the planet allergic to peanuts. Is this even possible?

Dust might of been an issue but I don't think he was allergic to it. Just make sure you understand the danger of giving peanuts. But there's danger everywhere. So its up to the individual to decide. :)

Mikey,

I have heard that I have to watch out for mold on the peanut, and not to give too many because they are fatty... but I figured 3 wouldnt hurt.. now that he was sneezing no more for him.... not worth the risk :(
BTW I emailed you a bit ago... Please forgive me but I havent forgotten you.

Cockatielgirl,

I had thought of that... and he does have peanuts in some of his seed mix I give him (shelled) but I thought he would have fun opening the shells... who would have known that I would cause him to have a sneezing fit.. it was cute but worrisome at the same time

I got your message and I replied. No worries! I'm not in a hurry.
