DYI jacket/harness

I promised someone an overview of how to make my homemade jackets for my macaws. I kind of forgot which thread it was in, so hope you find it here

And a photo of to put it together, I put in a photo of a finished jacket. Here you can also see where to put in the velcro taps. The jacket shown is for my plucker, so it has a lot more reinforcements, than others would need. I have one in dark brown, but this one you can see the velcro. They are not as visible on the brown one due to colour.

If you want to use it as a harness, you need to sew a lead onto the jacket. If you would like to have the option, you can sew a detachable lead like the one I have. This is a doublesided velcro with a lead. This can be taken on and off at will. The size will need to match the velcro on the back.

Thank you. I've been meaning to try make a pattern and this will be much easier! Have you found any types of fabrics that work better?
