Duke's update

Well duke has been adjusting to his new home very well, he learned to step up, and is good with pretty much all my guests, he will open his beak and pretend to attempt to bite if you go to pet his head, but really just puts his head down and let's you give him a scratch, he has not bit anyone he gives nibbles but will not pressure down, he like to nibble my ear but I do not allow him to cause of the tought of him accidentally sneezes or something and pierces my ear:/, he's still sketchy taking a bath in the tub, I try and give him once a month, do he likes bathing in his drinking water every now and then...hes still not talking do, he's using a low different tone than his normal screech that sounds like he's trying to talk hopefully he will start saying words soon...

I think BC's are just natural talkers. Keep talking to him and using the same words and phrases. I have to say I never heard mine practicing like you usually do with birds. She just came right out with it 2 months after I brought her home. And from that point on, she never shut up, lol!

Now, I did get my Nanday to say her first word 2 weeks after I got her, but she was also older. She was already 8 months old when I got her. And it's possible other people were saying it to her before I bought her. She was in a pet store. The employees or customers may have been talking to her as well. The BC was a newly weaned baby. Although one of her common phrases was "Whatcha doin?" which the breeder's birds all said a lot. More than me I think. So I suspect she learned it as a tiny chick and just didn't actually say it herself until a couple months later.
