I think threads like this are pretty fun.
If you could own any bird species, with unlimited funds, resources, and time, what would be on your list? Both parrots and non-parrots. Pictures encouraged!

Great idea!

My aviary is much simpler:
first and foremost my Parkerdoodle
Illigers macaw
Greenwing macaw
Blue and gold macaw
Red fronted macaw
Blue crown conure
Sun conure

A Golden Conure, please... aka Queen of Bavaria. An understanding one, though, who would realize that the Rickeybird rules the roost.

A little detour, if I may. My wonderful grandmother was NOT a bird person. She always told people her grand-daughter had a Patagonian CONDOR, not CONURE. Said "Oh, she always wanted one and now she has one". People envisioned the gigantic condor and cringed as she would tell how the bird perched on my shoulder, gave kissers, and bathed in the sink!!!!!

This is definitely a fun thread Don, thanks for posting it!

As far as "dream species" go, some I've already had, one I currently have, and some obviously are just not attainable.

Bronze Winged Pionus
Here's my boy Raven. I used to have a female BWP, but she passed. Love the Bronze Winged, look at the colors!

Dusky Pionus

Brown Necked Parrot (Cape)

Crested Canary (no idea why it's so bloated, but I love it)

Spoonbill

Common (Northern) Raven

*These here below are past beloved special birds of mine.

I've never shared her pic here before because it's still hard for me.
This is Starion - Slender Billed Corella Definitely was a dream species for me.

Adrian - Hooded Parakeet rare Australian parakeet (front), in juvenile color shortly before he passed.

Lady Gouldian Finches (and color mutations) If I ever have an aviary, definitely a dream species to have again... same with above Hooded Parakeet.

Let's see ...
Blue throat macaw.. always liked b and g macaws and blue throats , with their crazy mechanical skills sound like a challenge but fun.
Parrolete.. I've handled a few and these little Napoleons are so darn cute.
Huge cages for all of them, including Salty
Subscriptions to the Toy of the Month club, lifetime, if you please.

I think I would like to have a garden big enough scrap that I would like to own a park and have it safely enclosed where I could keep a whole Flock of Quakers like Peter Pan and the green Quakers too and also other colour mutations of Quaker and a Flock of WFA like Mr Biggles and also I would like flocks of all the other Amazons and perhaps some GW Scarlet and Blue and Gold Macs with a couple of mini macs thrown in for fun. I would also like parrotlets and some budgies and a flock of Kakariki (love those mischievous darlings) a couple of Cockatiels a few Magpies Ravens Rooks Crows and Jack dawes aswell as some Finches too and a few Robins and the odd Mynah bird too. A few owls and Cockatoos to finish it off with and a lake in the middle of the park where you could find swans and geese and ducks and all kinds of waterfowl and of course all the funds needed to keep such a park and all the birds in tiptop condition and well fed and a Brilliant landscaper and gardener to help keep the place interesting and parrot friendly, lastly in the middle of this park I would like a cosy home for me and Mr Biggles and Peter Pan near the lake ...most birds would be welcome in our park and we would have a Resident Avian Vet top of his/her field... The list goes on but I think you all get the general picture :)
PS HAD TO EDIT AS I FORGOT THE CONURES...(all types of conure that is ) :)

Lol I tried it with photos - mucked it up.

I'd love an African Grey, a Lovebird, an Emu and a Flamingo :)

I already have my top, obtainable, dream bird, my Ekkie. I have also always wanted a parrolete. With unlimited funds and space, however, I would want a peregrine falcon. I've always been interested in falconry, but I would need much more space and quite a bit more money than I do now.

Hmmmm I have my #1, the African Grey, my Nigel! He's the best!
#2 Galah cockatoo tied with an Iligers...

And a huge aviary, multiple stands throughout the house and money to pay someone to come clean :-D

Ravensgryf. Great list. That canary is too funny.

I know exactly what you mean about your Starion. I lost my goffin, Nikki. The bond with a too is like no other.

Thanks Don. I know, that canary is a crack up! I also like your idea of a flock of Silkies. If they didn't have beaks I'd have had no idea they were birds lol.

Blue Yellow Naped amazon and some hawks probably.

Great thread! My dream bird is a Black Palm Cockatoo:)

Lyrebird
Hyacinth Macaw
Greenwing Macaw
and my CAG of course.

Love everybody's dream flocks. So spectacular. Mines a little more humble.
1 ekkie
2 gcc
3 cockatiel

Still waiting for the day I can get a gcc. Few years though yet :D 😆😆

I would LOVE to have an African Grey. A bit simple in the bird world, but I feel since my Caique is enough of a challenge for me now a Grey would be just amazing. Let's face it, I want a talker. :)

I also wouldn't mind just a standard Moluccan Cockatoo. Maybe if my kids some day want in on the action, some tiels!

LOL , LOVE the name of your caique.... cha cha! Is she a handfull?

Well, I want to foster some parrots in the future.

Hmmm...

Well, I would want..

American Crow
Umbrella Cockatoo
Scarlet Macaw
Hyacinth Macaw
African Pied Crow
Carrion Crow
Hooded Crow
Basically at least one of every crow species

And a lot more, lol!
