Most of you here know me as a DIY-aholic..... but what started it all, was my love for drawing.

I was always drawing, always doodling- sometimes it even got me in trouble because I'd neglect my homework and other duties.

Soon, life got in the way, and drawing faded away....

It's been at least 10 years since I really spent some time drawing, but I've been practicing again so here are some of my latest works....

June 20, 2015
Golden Eagle

July 16, 2015
A hybrid Raven.

And last night....July 17, 2015
A red tail hawk.

Thank you! The eyes are my favorite~ I draw them first lol

Thank you! [emoji8] it's nice to be drawing again~ I forgot how much it clears my mind!!

Re: Drawing "hobby" revived.....

Beautiful work Shirre! You are seriously talented. I'd be interested to see a drawing of your flock!

Re: Drawing "hobby" revived.....

Wow! You have done far more than capture a one-dimensional image, Shirre! Their personalities leap off the paper! Beautiful renditions!!

How long on average does each drawing take? Are they completed in one session or do you take breaks?

Thanks Scott!! [emoji4]

Usually it just takes me a few hours depending on how detailed, how much work there is.... But I try to do it in one sitting, unless it's a large, elaborate piece (and depending on my time availability)

Re: Drawing "hobby" revived.....

Wow Shirre! Those are excellent :)! Glad you've found time to get back to it.

I also loved to draw, but dropped the hobby many years ago too... I feel I forgot how now lol. Did it come right back to you, or did you find yourself 'rusty' and having to do a little practice sketching first?

Beautiful drawings, Shirre! Now that you've picked your pencils back up, don't you dare put them down. You're quite talented, and I look forward to more... and more... and more!

Re: Drawing "hobby" revived.....

So... Would there be any way someone could perhaps commission some pieces from you? My husband and I would love to get some quality art of our pets on our walls and are looking for options ;)

Great job, I love the corvid the best of course.:)

Me too! Her name is Lily, and she's a hybrid~ a brown-necked Raven and a pied crow.

Wow Shirre! Those are excellent :)! Glad you've found time to get back to it.

I'm still a bit rusty, but you don't really forget completely..... You should try it again!!!
