Hello !

This is Lily our 15 weeks old DYH Baby... and she is doing that noise. I am wondering if she is scared or if that is something else... She only does that when we're near her

And no i am not trying to scare her on purpose... We had her for one week and she is already coming out of her cage to play on top.

I only listened for the first few seconds. That's a begging, feed me , feed me , call. LOL Hopefully she won't be doing that a year from now.

hello henpecked,

or is she begging me to leave her alone haha. She's eating on her own... she is around 400 grams is its staying around that.

It's almost a reaction call to just seeing your hand. Your hand is just like her mother to her. She'll grow out of it. You don't know how much you'll miss those begging sounds until you hear them in the way distant future. And remember back when my baby used to do that.

AAAAWWWWW!!!! Lily is TOO cute!!! Yes, she is begging. :)

To me it's the sweetest sound in the world. :D

Awwwww. Lily looks exactly like my Rio minus the inflamed nostril. LOL. The baby BF amazon (I miss her) I had made that noise, exactly. I think Rio started off with that noise and it was progressed to what he does not which is a louder and constant begging noise. He's always begging for something whether its food or my attention or to play. And she's smart enough to only make it when you're near because she knows you'll hear her. She's so cute!

I swear I don't have any human kids yet but when I do I think it'll be a piece of cake after having my DYH baby. LOL.

Yes, it's begging. Are you feeding her different kinds of fresh soft food twice a day? Zons parents feed them for much longer than 15 weeks so you might want to supplement her intake with a bit of extra something -it doesn't have to be formula but you can make some homemade formula with different flours and a bit of baby food and feed her with a syringe once or twice a day. It will comfort her and help create a bond with you.

She is eating fruits that i give her, she doesn't eat everything, she loves carrots and brocolli

Can you guys give me some idea ? I have some baby formula right now that my Orange Winged doesn't want and i doubt that would be enough. I am introducing her slowly to play outside of her cage for five minutes each day per week and it's obvious when she wants to go back..

That is definitely a sign showing that she wants food. Hand feed her and she will quiet down. That's what my baby YCA is doing right now. 2 twice a day. Also munching on fruits n pallets.
I don't think 5mins of OOC playtime is enough.
Very lovely DYH!

Hello Pod,

When she is outside her cage she is freaking out.. since she s olny 15 weeks only i don't want to rush anything. When she becomes more agitated i put her back in her cage and she comes on the top and she whistles and screams and does that noise. I bought Frozen Vedgies yesterday and i'm goingto try it tonight.
