Donating feathers

Thanks, Ill definitely give craigslist a try. And hope someone hear me out. Thanks for the wonderful advice :)

I have a B&G macaw, and would love to send you a feather or two when Frankie decides its time to lose one. I have one of her long tail feathers right now I've been saving, and maybe 3 or 4 smaller ones. I've been giving them to my mom who's been putting them in some flower arrangements, but the idea of them contributing to a ceremony is fascinating to me. I would love to see pictures! I always try to pull feathers out of Frankie's cage before they get dirty, so they should be in pretty good shape for you.

Thank you so much!! , I would definetly send you pics. When you get a chance pm your email. Thanks :D

Also try rescues and sanctuaries, perhaps you could give of your time or a trade of something they would need.

I have an opportunity to get loads of macaw feathers from a macaw sanctuary in washington state. Problem is they say they have been told it is illegal to ship them over state. Is this true? Can someone please give me an answer, this would really benefit my group

I always thought that it was only illegal to have feathers from protected species or native birds (to prevent poaching situations). Since Macaws aren't native to North America, and they're also basically domesticated animals, I would think it would be ok. Unless Washington State has a specific law about it...

It might be worth checking into though.

Yea, that's what I told them, I also told them that to prevent any mix ups to write the quantities, and the names of the birds the feathers come from in a letter head. They said they are going to look into it. I got my fingers crossed

Hi I am curious were you learned the aztec traditional dance O.o
Even though I live in Mexico . I have never heard of traditional aztec dance lessons .... The only guys that do them work for hotels O.o
so were you learned it?

Im just curious

Well out here in California most groups were started by two guys that came from Chimalhuacan Mexico City. Most of these dance groups come from there. Slowly they have branched out. There are thousands of groups. I'm sure if you start investigating you will find a group near you. Some guys that work for hotels are not traditional but are performance or artistic group. My groups name is Teocalli Tepeyollotl meaning Temple of the Mountains Heart beat. Out here in California is the second after Mexiko in Aztec dancers.

There are a lot of dancers out there in Guadalajara, specially for the celebrations of the Virgen de Zapopan, and other ones. Tonala also has a decent amount of dancers

Would love to see some pictures! My grandmother has an African grey and she always collects the feathers. I'd love to help out, too

Thank you, if you can give me your email I would be happy to send you photos of the ceremonial pieces made by us.
