The very educated "breeder" in our area swears they don't talk. Houdini does. A lot. Does yours? Just curious.

Don't have a sun, but has this "breeder" ever met Houdini?

I remember someone in a pet store telling me that budgies and cockatiels don't talk because they don't have the "voice boxes" of the large parrots! She said it was probably someone talking in the back ground! Wonder if she ever heard one in person? lol

My little Barkerbutt whispers. She doesn't seem to understand how to talk properly or make most sounds. She whispers pretty birdy and clicks her beak to give kisses. She's such an odd bird but I love her. Con, on the other hand, has about 15 words. It's crazy how fast she picks things up.

Romeo is 5 months old. Have to whait and see. Just received him yesterday. I didn't even knew sun conures exists, but - imediatly started reading up, so I can learn to know him better. I have an african grey for 6 years now, though.

^^ you're not the only one haha, I didn't know about them untill the breeder showed her to me, now I'm a big sun lover and wouldn't change/give away my feathered clown for the world, she's really the best :orange:

my Sunny will be 1 year soon and I'm proud to say: she knows two words :D yay Sunny!!! it's in slovene: kaj (what) and mac (kitty - this is what I always call her)... now we're learning tricks, so now shen knows how to wave hello :D (picked it up in 3 days  this bird is crazy for sunflower seeds haha)

Most never talk so if yours does then you are quite lucky. My baby Sun Peaches makes some garbled sounds. One sound that she makes sounds like she is saying whaat, she does this alot. When she gets real excited she starts to flap both of her wings. I never knew Suns were such smart birds to have......love my Peaches, Peace to all.

Wow! I'm just a lucky mama then! Because he says, Houdini, what, what's up, kissy sounds, good boy, and what's up, Houdini! He talks most after I take him out of the cage then put him back in. On his next talking spree ill post it. He has a high pitched crystal clear lil voice! I thought they all could. I got a gem for sure!:orange:

Carlisle knows how to say "Hello" (this is easily his favorite and he'll repeat hello over and over like a toddler repeats words) "HIIIII Carlisle!" "Good boy, boy, boy" (why he says boy multiple times I'll never know) and "Goodnight!" He sometimes adds Carlisle to the end of goodnight to make it "Goodnight Carlisle" or he'll even say "Good BOY Carlisle!" He normally says good boy Carlisle when he knows he's being naughty. :p
