Does this seem too soon?

Is homing a conure at 7 weeks too soon or just depends?
My green cheek is 7 weeks. I was told the baby was ready. Was told what fruits and vegetables he’s enjoying. I’m not experiencing that here. He will not eat any of it even chopping it to the tiniest pieces but he’ll take it hand fed. His crop will get larger hand fed. He becomes alert and active.
He is eating pellets and occasionally drinking. I do not see a large crop when he’s in his cage. The second day I hand fed his pellets, he was struggling to find them in his cage no matter where I placed the bowl. Now I leave pellets all over his floor just in case. He prefers eating from the floor. Today is the 4th day, he seems to be more active because he’s eating better.
I’m wondering if he should of stayed on formula while grazing pellets.

Hi. Iam going to tell you what everyone else will come along and say. Yhis baby should go back to the breeder or shop until it is fully weaned and eating solid foods, pellets, seed, veggies and fruit for 2 week. Selling un-weaned babies is such a bad idea, and many do not live becasue the new owners do not know how to care for them.

Yeah- he LIKELY needs to go back and finish weaning...and don't try to let them tell you that you can hand-feed him either-- that was their job and they need to do it...it isn't easy to do (even though some will try to make it sound that way).

Us Americans can learn a great deal from this statement! Sound like UK has better control over aviaries than we do.
