I know this is a rather odd question, but I'd imagine 135 decibels from a M2 could be dangerous and I'm curious. Has anybody had hearing loss or know of anybody that has from this?

Perhaps it's quite common, I'd imagine it would be for somebody that has lived with them for many years.

Many parronts do get hearing loss to a degree at some point in their life, I expect to have some hearing loss at some point lol! Sometimes Kenji makes this terribly high pitched peep. My hearing in whatever hear was facing him stops hearing as well for like 20 seconds XD

I wonder if we could get hearing loss to specific pitches? I've met older parronts who've had parrots their whole life and their hearing isn't affected badly.

I have a sun conure but my hearing hasn't suffered yet. I noticed he uses less of his piercing contact calls this day, he uses a slightly more subdued version of it. If anything though, I'm actually more perceptive of sounds now where as I was more oblivious before. It's more because I listen out for things that might scare or upset my bird.

But a sun conure has a different sound than an M2. More high pitched but not as strong so it might not be a good comparison.

I have hearing loss from shooting weapons on the firing range for years. But I haven't had my hearing tested lately to see if it has gotten worse unless you listen to my wife tell about how I can't hear a bomb go off outside. I do however practice selective hearing loss when it suites me though.
