My flock has started calling me "bubba" :p This is hysterical to me because Im female and my names Terri. My zon Lexi started it .She was doing her screamy zon thing in the spring . I would tell her to cool it and she would always say "Hi Bubba" :D She did come from a home that had a little boy . Shes says "Id move if I were you " and "Are you my brother?" :D So now my other birds and my new GW Porscha are calling me Bubba too. It always cracks me up and give a big reaction to the chorus of "Hi bubba" . When I come in the room. Im sure that's why they do it :D Do your birds have names for you ?

Apparently, my name in Quaker parrot language is Gracckk-gracckk. Though Ralph knows several words in English, that's the only name he uses to call me. :D

Bubba, that's too funny! And even funnier that the others have picked it up!

My female quaker calls me Cameron. We have no one, family or friends named Cameron. She doesn't call anyone else that, it's my name. So far, her flock mates haven't picked it up.

Lucky you, Gary! Ralph could do worse than Gracckk Gracckk! :)

Isn't funny when they pick up a word or phrase you know you don't use :)

Allee, isn't that strange that you don't know anyone named Cameron? Lol it's funny though! Probably someone in Harry's former life named Cameron, and you remind her of them.

I know I've told you this before so you might remember, but my Pionus nicknamed himself... Raven calls himself Ray Ray. We NEVER used to say that LOL! I do now though :D.

Ps... Terri, can we start calling you Bubba here? :18:

My YNA Buster calls my name (Melissa) and Kitty (YNA) calls Clifford or Roscoe.........:) She didn't pick those names up here, must have been from a previous owner. We have a wood furnace and last winter Buster told my brother, Michael go fire! he must have thought it was a little chilly! (THAT phrase he picked up from us):D

Now that you mention it, it's kind of funny. Maggie and Tusk both call Sarah by name, and seek her out by name, when they want attention from her.

They've never had a name for me...

Just a foot up in the air.

I'm trained to respond to hand signals... I guess that makes my name "pick me up."

My CAG, Justice just calls me Girl...but the OWA, Slater, calls me a name I won't repeat that starts with an a and ends with an e. That was his name before we got him, and now he uses it in all kinds of ways to make my morning...his latest?
Hey A%^&(e, where's that boy?!?
(Meaning my Hubby who he loves!)
I personally prefer Girl...or Bubba...or Cameron.

Terry ROTFLOL!!!!! :18: That Slater sure is a rough around the edges kind of guy huh? So cute when you think that he really has no idea how rude it is Lol. Oh that is so funny though.

His NAME was A*%@&$e????!!!! how sad!

Julie, Raven calling himself Ray Ray is adorable.

Slater is quite a character! I love that he refers to Reg as 'That Boy'.

Mark, it was so wise of your birds to train you with hand signals!

I agree, it was so sad. My daughter got Slater from a yard sale, and he had lived in an 18X18 cage for all his life, and had not been out in 2 years. The people lived in their cabin at the lake in the summer and stopped by to feed him a couple times a week:(
