Between your birds, for those of you who either have more than one bird, OR have in the past, or have family members who's birds you're familiar with...
Ever notice that not everyone has the same "bathroom habits"? :52:
I'll give an example of what I mean... Robin the old Red Bellied poops at just about what I would call a "normal" interval of time between poops for a bird of his body size.
Raven the Pionus on the other hand... Seems like he poops at least as often as the budgie! These frequent interval poops are smaller than usual, which stands to reason that he just pushes one out before it's really ready to come out... Don't get me wrong, it's not always like that, as sometimes I do see 'regular Pionus size' poop from Raven, it's just that I noticed when he's sitting and just relaxing on the swing outside his cage, after an hour or so there will be more small little pieces of poop than there should be for that time frame (and yes I can tell they're from Raven). Raven cannot sit on your shoulder for any length of time without soiling your clothing :20:
Now Griffin the Ruppell's parrot is the other way around. He's only about half the size of Raven, yet for some reason he holds his poop until it is at least Amazon sized, and considerably more of a wet and splattery mess than Raven's typically drier little chunks... and THANK GOODNESS he will usually hold it while he is on you.
Twigs... Do I even need to mention his pooping habits? He's a Budgie. Little pieces are dropping out all the time lol
They all eat about the same stuff, so I just assume each just has their own 'signature' consistency and texture . I've had different species in the past too, but I've never really 'noticed' any marked differences like this.
I don't remember what my other late Pionus' poops were like compared to Raven's. Anyone with Pionus concur they have a 'drier' poop?
