Right now I am trying to decide where to put the cage when I get my tiel. If I move my tiel to a seperate sleep cage will it stress him out? It would only be a little in the summers and a few weeks/weekends in the school year because when my brothers are up from college they stay up late... The cage that he would be in for sleep is this; Blue Ribbon Cage Connection Black Square Style Roof Bird Cage at PETCO
Also, he would be in my room :)

I am not the owner of a cockatiel, but I used to have sleep cages for my parrots when I lived in Florida, because they spent most of the day on the screened in porch. I never had an issue.

Once he gets used to it, everything would be fine. :)

thats what i was hoping to hear lol :) i know that they need to get used to their new home/cage for about 24 hours so after about 2 days should i start him in the sleep cage so that when my brothers come up he is good about it??

Yes I would start now. It would make the transition easier before they show up, new people around can make them nervous.
