Do pellets give conures calcium if they do would a solid pellet diet supply a lot of calcium for a green cheek

Possibly... but each birds body is different, so it's possible for two birds of the same species on the same diet and one of them could have a deficiency.

A pellet only diet is *not* a healthy diet for any bird. They still require things such as sprouted seeds, maybe the occasional nut, a few fruits, lots of vegetables, some healthy grains and legumes and the occasional cooked eggs.

I've been reading a lot about sprouted seeds, that's debatable as many including vets have said they can become moldy etc.....I used to sprout seeds, but for growing purposes and yes it can get moldy and stuffs pretty quickly....Part of the reason why I never feed them to my birds so I stick with fresh fruits and veggies plus cooking for my birds....

I have an 'easy sprout' kit from ebay which is simple to use - soak seeds for 12 hours, rinse every 12 hours for a couple if days then ready to feed your birdie. I've only had one batch go mouldy and that was my fault forgetting to rinse after soaking. Jasmine loves them

i hand feed them fruits and vegetables every day i meant like in their food bowl i just switched them to pellets 3 days ago and it turns out they love it but ya i meant for their cage food i hand feed them fruits and veggies and i do have seed food to. thanks

Just pellets in the cage would be fine since you feed fruits and veggies out of the cage.

I'd love to get my entire flock on sprouted seeds since it is a healthier alternative to dry seeds, and with the majority of my flock being small species, a diet high in pellets isn't good for them. I just can't decide on forking out a bunch of money for a sprout mix in large quantities or trying to make a cheaper version myself... if making myself, I need to take into account the amount of time it takes for each seed to sprout to make a successful mix.

There are alot of fresh foods that naturally have calcium like broccoli. You can also aid in the absorption of calcium via natural sunlight too.

You can offer calcium but other factors like above assist with their bodies utilizing it and absorbing it.

Sprouted seeds will not provide complete protein. Feeding a sprouting blend that provides complete protein is vital for the health of your birds. Protein makes up the basic structure of all cells, and without it, a bird can develop serious health problems. Here’s a couple links that talks about this.
