do macaws really eat that much more?

you ever see your macaw swallow a whole grape? lol my macaw and toucan both do that they just gulp it down

My big macs skin them in reverse. They eat the insides out of them until only the skin is left.

Willie squeeze it with his beak and suck the juice out instead.....lol

Even the smaller birds waste SO much!!
I purposely don't cut the veggies real tiny, since I leave them for a considerable amount of time. I'd be afraid they'd spoil if they were chopped too small. As they are they're fine, BUT they take a small bite out of a quarter inch square and drop most of it. Then they leave a lot in the bowl at the end of the day. I always give too much. I feel like I end up throwing MOST of the vegetables I buy away, and pellets same thing. I think easily half of it goes to waste.

Yay!!!! I'm not the only one with strange birds..... That makes me feel better....

There is also a U2 at a pet store about half an hour from me who will do the same thing, use his foot to grab a bunch of food, first time I'd seen anything like it! Lol.

My sun conure does that to blueberries...unfortunately that is one of the few fruits I can actually get him to eat...not big on fruits and veggies! He does like his Roudybush and LOVES Zupreme fruit pellets as snacks.
